New for 2008, the Style 1 Don features many of the specifications of its 1934 counterpart. This the first National which uses authentic Nickel Silver (German Silver) as the material for the body. The double engraving pattern, ribbed sieve-hole coverplate, and the decorative “Don” engraved handstrap reproduce the look of the originals. This limited edition instrument is accompanied by an official letter of authenticity certifying it as one of one hundred instruments that will be built. This beauty was custom ordered for a lucky customer’s 50th Birthday.
Superb recreation of the 1934 National, the German Silver body really has more warmth and punch as Al stated. It's hard to believe a metal guitar can sound so open, but this one does, it's great!
