This fan-fret 5 String Electric Mandolin is a rare bird indeed. Very few were ever produced, which is a bit of a mystery, because this is one seriously cool and original instrument. From the modern shape, to the great sounding pickups, this little guy has killer looks and a sound that will make your jaw drop.

Many of you know I love multiscale instruments, the even tension, improved intonation and natural feel are the benefits to the player. Time and time again we hand clients multiscale instruments and they are surprised how much they DON"t feel the difference, but enjoy the benefits. This little Mando is a player's beast. Fast neck, great tone and look that will set you apart on stage.
It's fun playing a five-string electric mandolin. The tuning is CGDAE so it covers the range of the mandola and the mandolin opening up amazing possibilities for the electric player. The multiscale design makes the tension even on all of the strings which really helps the playability. It would be a blast to put this through the same kinds of effects one might use on electric guitar. My sample was made using a clean unaltered tone so that the great pickup tone could be heard, but this little guy can scream when running on overdrive.
