1969 Martin 00-28C Brazilian/Sitka
Here we have a Brazilian Rosewood 00-28C Nylon String guitar from the Martin Guitar Company. Built in 1969, the Brazilian Rosewood is lovely, the kind we all wish there was more of with dark, rich color. Paired with the Brazilian Rosewood is a Spruce top which offers good power and great clarity. This nylon strung vintage Martin would be great for the player who enjoys, folk, jazz, Brazilian or crossover genres. The condition is excellent as well making this a collectible instrument as well.

In 1915 Martin Guitars made only 161 guitars. The penciled signature on the bottom side of the this guitar’s top reads ‘#12061, 2/4/15, F.H.M’. This signature may indicate Frank Henry Martin signed this very guitar. This great sounding Martin 0-18 is braced with a scalloped X and was properly modified to accept steel strings with a larger bridge plate and a pyramid bridge installed. The overall condition and playability is great and the voice has that magical early 20th Century flair, big, open and beautiful, like a piano. This is a very rare and collectible Martin Guitar that can also be played and enjoyed every day.

Martin made just 1375 EM-18 guitars from 1979-1982. While they did not make a big stir at the time, we find them to be a very cool guitar with great tone and a variety of settings (series & parallel) that give you the ability to get a funky single coil sort of tone as well as full-out screaming humbucker voicings. The body is laminated Maple & Walnut body have a race car sensibility and the Stauffer style headstock nods to the company’s history. This would be a fun addition to any collection and this one is in excellent condition.

The Paul Simon Limited Edition from Martin Guitars is full of good Karma, after all it benefit The Children’s Health Fund which Paul Simon co-founded. It is also one of the very few things Paul ever endorsed. He worked closely with Martin to determine the specs and decided on a OM body with forward bracing, adorned with 42 Style appointments, Paul Simon inlaid on the last fret, label signed by Paul Simon, Tortoise bindings on the body and neck and a customized fingerboard that starts at a 1 11/16″ nut but is wider than most up high to facilitate fingerstyle. The tone from the Rosewood and Sitka Spruce body is clear and open with shimmering overtones. This Martin Paul Simon guitar is perfect for fingerstyle play. Only 223 of these were made, so it’s a very limited edition as well.

2003 Fender Telecaster 62 Tele Custom Alder
Description from Fender’s website: The double-bound alder body and multi-ply pickguard that dressed up the ’62 Telecaster guitar distinguished it from its Butterscotch predecessor. And rosewood, originally introduced for cosmetic reasons because maple was prone to showing wear, quickly grew in popularity with the warmth it added to the classic Telecaster tone. In the spirit of the original, the American Vintage ‘62 Telecaster Custom guitar has a C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard. It also features a pair of ’62 Custom Tele single-coil pickups, a vintage Tele bridge with threaded steel saddles, and the original Tele circuit with three-position switch. 1998 M. Tezanos Perez 1a Concert Classical Brazilian/German
Fans of the Ramirez guitars of the 1960s will be familiar with both Mariano Tezanos and Teodoro Perz. Both were premier luthiers in the Ramirez shop during that time. These two master luthiers created their own shop producing M. Tezanos Perez guitar in the rich Spanish tradition. This concert model is a splendid example of their work, rich, warm tone and excellent power fill the room. This is what a mature Spruce top guitar becomes, just splendid. The body is crafted from premium Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce, a proven combination for world-class concert guitars. The tuners have been upgraded to Reischl, one of the very best.

Being based in Hawaii James Goodall gets some wonderful Koa wood. This set has lovely color and sheen. Topped with Red Cedar the voice is warm and strong. Curly Maple bindings frame the body beautifully and it’s capped off with Gold Schaller tuners. This one is in Mint condition. Get the Koa Goodall you’ve always wanted.
2002 Goodall MP-14 Maple/Cedar
James Goodall and company do wondrous things with Maple and Red Cedar. All of the Goodalls we’ve played with that combo have been inspiring. This Parlor is no exception, the voice is huge with quick attack and good amount of both power and fullness. Maple makes for a quick note and the Cedar gives it richness. This is a pairing that really works and is exceptionally good in the small body shape. Beautiful flamed Koa bindings complete the package and make it very elegant.
2006 Sheppard GA Dream Series #4 African Blackwood/Bosnian
These Gerald Sheppard Dream Guitar never cease to amaze us. The African Blackwood is an incredible tonewood and is prized among makers of high end woodwind instruments. It’s no wonder that it sounds equally good on an acoustic guitar. It’s denser than Brazilian and has some of the same characteristics – Dark and rich with brilliant highs.
