Description

Here we have a lovingly kept 1976 Sakurai Model 5 classical guitar. Sakurai, in case you don't know, is the nephew of the famous Masaru Kohno and currently makes Kohno and Sakurai guitars. Though wonderful aged for more than 30 years, this guitar looks nearly new. The Indian Rosewood and Cedar body produce a rich, traditional voice with that trademark Sakurai power and precision. The treble strings are very clear, focused and powerful. The playability is superb and it's easy to pull a variety of colors and dynamics from this wonderful Sakurai guitar.

This is a gem. It's looks and plays like a 2 year old guitar. The voice however is mature and vibrant, like the aged guitar that this is. This is a superb student guitar, that will last some lucky player for years.

This guitar is clear and open with lots of high frequency overtones. The result is a bright tone with lots of character that really appeals to me. There is no "mud" in the midrange on this guitar. The inner voices are easily heard in a complex chord or when there is lots of movement. I highly recommend this instrument.
