This fine Sobel Model O was formerly owned by Alistair Russell of Battlefield Band. A joy to play, like all Sobells, it is a great sounding guitar that has opened up nicely from being played over the years. European Spruce over Indian Rosewood, with the distinctive Sobell cutaway and oval soundhole. These instruments truly deserve the reverence they are given by professional players around the world. A fine example of Sobell's work. Comes complete with a pickup and a Calton case that boasts many stickers from it's travels with Alistair Russell.
I've known this guitar for some time and played it a bunch. It's a great Sobell! Very open and full of life. But that is no surprise as it spent quite a bit of time in the hands of Alistair Russell, Scottish Guitarist formerly of the Battlefield Band. So people the world over have heard this wonderful Sobell, now it's your turn. Just listen to the clear voice and articulation. It's the sound Martin Simpson made famous. Don't miss this one!
This is one of the nicest Sobell guitars I've played. These guitars are fantastic for ensemble work or for intricate fingerstyle playing where every note must be clear and powerful. The characteristic tone of a Sobell is the perfect way to expand a ollection of acoustics. Easy to record and easy to play, this one is a winner
