1978 Henderson 000-28, Indian Rosewood/Spruce
This is may be my favorite Henderson guitar I’ve played. The first one I played like this was way back when I played a bunch of gigs with Peter Rowan. He had a great-sounding Henderson 12-fret at the time and played it with a flatpick. This one has some of the same rich bass response and punchy mids without sacrificing the sweetness of the treble strings. Great for any style and very satisfying. Don’t let this one go by. Killer voice, nicely opened up and punchy. The setup is slick and fast, responding really well to just about anything I played on it. I love the history behind this guitar, considering it’s the one Wayne built just before his personal #52 where he pioneered his violin-style headstock (you can read about it in Clapton’s Guitar).
