2000 Everett Milano Indian/Sitka
If only we had more builders with a graceful aesthetic like Kent Everett! From the Abalone flowers floating across the fretboard, to the Koa bindings, dark Sitka Spruce top (from the 1960s) and Indian Rosewood back, and relief-carved heelcap, this 2000 Milano sings a swansong of harmonious lines and sumptuous curves. Tonally, this guitar is equal parts melodious and raucous, perfect for everything from gentle fingerstyle arrangments to bright, percussive accompaniment with a pick–in fact, this guitar sounds incredibly loud and articulate with a flatpick and a more aggressive attack.
The bass has a powerful snap and well-defined edge, so if the blues take you, this Everett Milano is ready to roll. The Sitka Spruce top has fully opened up in the past 15 or so years of life, and lends this instrument a fierce projection with even a light touch. Lastly, decked out with an L.R. Baggs iBeam pickup you can bring this powerhouse to your gig with the confidence that you’re going to sound as lush and dynamic acoustically as amplified.

Kent Everett has a superior understanding of the tonal palette required by the accomplished guitarist. The Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce pair well on this instrument, making it loud and responsive with excellent gusto not seen in many guitars. The voice is full and rich, with complex overtones and sustain that will suit many playing styles. It is truly a guitar that can do anything, and the custom close-able sound port really helps put the player right inside the mix. Playability is a must on guitars of this caliber, and Kent has this one playing like butter even all the way up past the smooth venetian cutaway. Kent’s instruments are highly sought after and new ones like this rarely become available, so don’t wait to grab this one up!

For his 30th anniversary of building Kent Everett pulled out all the stops. He built just 3 anniversary guitars and this one especially for us here at Dream Guitars. We hand picked the amazing Madagascar Rosewood and paired it with a Bearclaw top. The rest is all Kent, he worked with marquetry artist Cristina Alvarez Magliano to create breathtaking Azalea inlays out of wood to match our ‘Azalea Drive’ address. He created the first ever guitar we’ve seen with 14k gold top & back borders. There is also an armrest bevel and a side soundport. But he did not forget about tone, this guitar has a huge voice, with pure energy that pushes straight out then fills the room with joyous music. Every note beautiful and complex. This guitar is elegant and artistic in every way! Thank you Kent.

Kent Everett is a master Luthier who makes only 6-8 guitars each year. Every guitar he makes is an individual work of art with unique appointments. The Celona model is where Kent allows himself to stretch out and work with new ideas and designs. This guitar features a wedge shaped body that tapers from the treble side to the bass side so it’s slimmer near your chest as you play. This is an ergonomic feature that adds comfort but it also has a sonic effect which helps control the bass keeping a larger guitar very balanced. There is also a side soundport and a cutaway neck heel for easy access to the higher frets. The guitar has lovely adornments as well such as the dimensional headplate and backplate and the carved bridge. There is also a B-Band pickup installed. We don’t see many used Everett guitars and this is the first wedge body.

Kent “Carlos” Everett began his love of building guitars in 1977, and has had a guitar in the works ever since.
He is primarily self-taught. “I have learned a lot from many different people. Does that mean I am self-taught? The two people who have influenced me the most are: Devon Bogue for teaching me the meaning of craftsmanship; and Wade Lowe for teaching me that it is OK to be passionate about your work.”
Kent is one of those builders who has something to say with his instruments, a voice. His craftsmanship is superior and the tone of his instruments is inspiring.
