2005 Simpson GA-C, Ziricote/Redwood
Trebles have haunting overtones, very bell like and clear. Paired up with a warm midrange and bottom end thanks to the Redwood top, and throw in a few years’ music to make it sing, and the result is this wide open fingerstyle GA-C from Jason Simpson. This beauty comes to us from 2005 and has opened up handsomely, is trimmed out with Bloodwood appointments to set off the Ziricote body and Redwood top, and is outfitted with a B-Band pickup system to carry you into amplified territory. All wrapped up in a Cedar Creek case.

Jason Simpson brought his first 2 guitars to a workshop that Martin Simpson and Paul Heumiller were teaching a few years ago. They were blown away by his first 2 instruments and new he would be one of the new breed of superb luthiers. In this guitar from Jason, is the proof. This is an outstanding GA with a very full and powerful sound. The bass notes seem to fire out of the soundhole and the trebles are rich and rewarding. An original voice, a top quality instrument.

We are delighted to have here the latest Dream Series from luthier Jason Simpson. Martin Simpson and I sort of ‘discovered’ Jason years ago and we’ve been delighted to bring his work to you our customers as it is shining example of modern luthiery. This SJ Dream Series is simply breathtaking, gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood, German Spruce, dual Side Soundports, elevated fingerboard, the most wonderful armrest bevel and elegant details throughout. Jason’s voice is clear and present reminiscent of Ryan but with perhaps more power in the mid range. We consider Jason’s guitars to be one of the most versatile, wonderfully adept at fingerstyle, flatpicking and strumming in many genres.

This is the first of Jason Simpson guitars with his new SJ body style and we just love it. It has a beautiful balance and elegant line. Jason’s sculpted armrest BEVEL is one of the most refined we’ve seen. We actually helped Jason test out his bevel during it’s design and it not only looks great but is extremely comfortable in any playing position. For this SJ we selected a premium set of old growth Brazilian Rosewood and topped it with AAA German Spruce. The look of this guitar is defined by the dark Ebony bindings, plain fingerboard, black nut and saddle with just the right of abalone accent on the top border and rosette. The voice is majestic, big bass, strong trebles and a sonority that is well-suited for fingerstyle, flatpicking or strumming. Versatility comes easy to this dazzling Simpson SJ. The result is extreme versatility in a guitar that can easily move between style and genres. You can achieve big strummed sounds and the most delicate fingerpicked passages.
