We love Baritones. Hands down. And we love Linda Manzer’s work. Hands down. So naturally, we’re all hands on deck for this Manzer Baritone from 2017. Flamed Koa back and sides, German Spruce on top—and the kicker: multiscale at 28.75-28”, slim body plus Wedge for easy playability. This makes for a powerhouse Baritone that fits and feels familiar like a normal flattop. The treble strings have delicious weight and color, and we had a blast in A tunings, all the way down to G. It weighs in under five pounds, slim, trim, and ready for action.

Among the highest of Alhambra’s catalog: the Mengual y Margarit NT model. Built by Javier and José, respectively, in an exclusive small shop within Alhambra, these guitars feature thicker sides for added sustain, allowing the top to be thinned for added volume and power. Here in Indian Rosewood and Cedar, with a Torres-style bracing pattern, and French Polish on top to maximize resonance! Additionally, this beauty features the Ahlambra ErgoNeck, engineered with a slight asymmetry in order to be as easy-playing as possible. This particular beauty is like new from 2020.

Gil Yaron’s as close as you get to the vintage real deal, without taking out a second mortgage. This is a particularly faithful 1959 LP Replica, built in 2016. For the body and neck, Gil used old growth Mahogany and paired it with a flamed Maple top from his private stock, pre-1970 CITES Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Celluloid Nitrate position markers, and comprehensively detailed relic finish in Nitro. Gil’s PAF humbuckers and wiring are 100% exact to 1959 specs, and this particular one features NOS 50s harness and lead wires.
This Gil Yaron plays and sings as the quintessential LP. A wide, wide range of tones, and in a Replica package that is nearly indistinguishable from the original.

A sweet piece of vintage finery! We’ve landed a gorgeous Gibson ES-335 from 1963 in cherry finish, nylon nut and saddles, and the chunkier neck profile desired by collectors and players alike. Additionally, the pickup configuration on this ES-335 is one of the rare PAF transition versions: the neck pickup is PAF, the bridge pickup patented.
Slinky setup, and weighing in just over eight pounds, this 335 is heaps of fun to play. We love the cherry finish; it’s got the marks to prove it’s been making lots of good music for decades, with the finish worn down on the neck for that smooth, smooth feel.

Remember the expression, speak softly and carry a big stick? How about speak loudly and carry a big stick—cuz that’s what we’ve got here with this 2008 Mustapick Baritone. This fearsome force of nature boasts a 29 inch scale (takin’ it down to G town!), all-Koa construction, and an upper bout soundport to boot. It only weighs in at a little over five pounds; not bad for a Baritone that’s packing as much projection and power as this one. The neck and body balance out each other well, making this an easy-playing experience. If you’re ready to take the leap into Baritone territory, you can’t go wrong with this all-Koa Mustapick.

E.J. Henderson is making a name for herself in the traditional flattop world, here with a powerful 00 Shade Top in Mahogany and Sitka Spruce. Tortoise-style bindings and tuner knobs with a dark burst on top and handmade pickguard. Trim punching weight of 3lbs 9oz, and a lively voice to match. This 00 was built in 2017, has opened up handsomely already in but three years, and we’re here to tell you that it’s ready for a lot more.

Tom Rein is a guitarbuilding powerhouse. And this 2013 RJN-5C is a real, true, and incredibly expressive instrument. Straight-grained Indian Rosewood back and sides paired with a Lutz Spruce top, Tom’s adjustable neck angle (flick of a wrist with an allen key, and the action is precisely where you want it!)—french polished top for maximum resonance, a Fishman Matrix pickup for onstage work. This is Tom’s big-bodied Model 5, with an expansive lower bout for powerful bass and projection. We can pull out crisp trebles with minimal effort; take this Rein down to C territory and it remains powerful and precise.
Played in and opened up, this 2013 RJN-5C is oh so ready to keep the music going.

G.2C powerhouse! Bryan Galloup’s grand auditorium strikes a well-honed balance between power and clarity, dynamism and definition. It’s an incredible guitar, dressed to the nines in straight-grained Wenge and Italian Spruce and some really impressive inlays along the headstock, rosette, and back. Do we love this guitar? Yes, yes we do. It’s a testament to Bryan’s tuning technologies that this guitar has such a finely honed voice, and plays so well in so many different settings. We loved taking this one into C tunings just as much as Standard. If there’s a bad note on this G.2C, we haven’t found it yet.

China’s premier classical luthier, Yulong Guo, builds in the contemporary style with double top designs, an elevated fingerboard, and arm rest. This Concert Classical from 2018 features flamed Koa back and sides and a Cedar double top, 12-hole tieblock. Fan braced, light as a feather (under four pounds), and loud! This Yulong Guo has an exquisitely articulate and powerful voice.

Delicious. Rich, velvety, butter-smooth. We love this 2018 Jang OM from tuner to tail. The setup is that slinky sweet spot that’s perfect for fingerstyle in a range of tunings and easy on the hands with a 1 13/16” nut. Note clarity is exquisite; precision is the name of the game when it comes to this one’s voice. Then there’s the eye candy. Dramatically figured “Beeswing” Cocobolo back and sides—yes, please—paired with a creamy Italian Alpine Spruce top and Isaac’s Uchida-Style “Bendaway” cutaway, as well as a Subtle Manzer Wedge body contour, makes for a striking presentation that’s comfortable to boot. Red purflings set off the Spruce top and Ebony bindings, and gold Gotoh tuners round it out with Isaac’s distinctive two-tone headplate.

Now here’s a fun one that’s in a category all its own: Martin Keith’s hybrid Auriole model, here in Macassar Ebony and Redwood. This one, dubbed “Old Soul,” comes to us from 2013 in primo condition with Martin’s smoothly engineered adjustable neck, zero fret, and carbon fiber reinforcements. Additionally, this Auriole has a K&K Pure Mini pickup installed, here with an 1/8” vintage jack (adapter included). In particular, this Redwood is from Martin’s personal stash of Redwood salvaged from a late 19th century West Coast railroad. The upper register is particularly crisp and present, and balances well with the bass and mids for both fingerstyle and flatpicking. The unique combination of a floating bridge in a flattop design adds clarity and sustain to the bass register, and the offset soundhole gives the player a touch more in their own ear.

Hello, gorgeous. Five minutes with this Smallman, and you won’t want to do anything else. The power, dynamic range, and sustain from Greg and sons’ unique build techniques make this Concert Classical an instrument par excellence. CSA Rosewood back and sides paired with Cedar on top, arm rest, and 650mm scale. From 2016, this Smallman has been played in and opening up nicely; it’s the sort of guitar that even our recordings won’t do justice—the quality with which this instrument fills the room, and reverberates your chest, is something you’ve got to experience in person. Interested yet? Give us a shout!

The late Gustav Fredell, former apprentice of Ervin Somogyi, was a gifted luthier who we lost too soon. We don’t often get to see his instruments on the used market, so we’re proud to be able to offer this M model in Higuerilla Rosewood and Bearclaw Spruce. This trim 00 is a little over three pound light, and boasts a heady bass response to belt it out. Laminated nut and saddle, Gustav’s uniquely hollowed out headstock design, and sturdy EVO frets. This 2013 Fredell has an impressive projection by any measure, especially so with a smaller body air cavity.

A beautiful pairing: Larry Robinson’s inlay wizardry and Bill Wise’s guitarbuilding masterwork. This is a gorgeous SJ model from 2016, hands down. Indian Rosewood back and sides with Sinker Redwood on top come together for warmth and sweet overtones, and the setup is typical Charis—smooth and glassy. Larry’s inlays take the form of a series of birds and branches sprawling across the fretboard and headstock veneer, and Bill trimmed the body out with flamed Koa (really making the arm bevel pop!). Upper bout soundport to bring it all together. Our repair folks recently installed a K&K Pure Mini pickup too, so this one is stage ready to boot!

Here’s a Matsuda which stands out even among Matsudas! A fabulous M1 model from 2018 with Moena back and sides, Italian Spruce top, and a distinctive sunburst paired with a squared off pickguard. Deeply cut Florentine Cutaway gives you easy access to the uppermost frets, and the slinky setup makes for an easy picking experience every time.
The voice is characterized by a crisp, clean note definition; overtones don’t get in the way. Quick and responsive, focused. An excellent fingerstyle instrument, especially if you want a guitar to keep up with agile playing, or an aggressive attack.

The Vintage Series embodies understated elegance. The traditional aesthetics of a spruce top fused with a robust unidirectional carbon soundboard is finished with an amber tint and supplemented with simple appointments.
A little guitar that packs a full, bright sound and a rich depth of tone typical of RainSongs.
The Parlor body combines the traditional compact shape with a modern Venetian cutaway for a perfectly proportioned intimate guitar with excellent access to the upper frets. A lower bout of 13-1/3” and depth of 4-1/8” makes it RainSong’s smallest body. The small size of the Parlor belies full and rich sound.

The Dreadnought is the traditional workhorse of acoustic guitar music. With a large, deep body and wide waist, RainSong’s DR has the powerful bass and ringing treble of a great rhythmic guitar, but still maintains a wonderfully balanced sound, with clear distinction among individual notes. From rhythm to lead, the DR makes its presence known. Capable of cutting through admirably in any acoustic setting, the DR is loud enough to compete with banjoes, mandolins and other traditional volume hogs.

Note, these photos represent this model from Rainsong, not the specific guitar we have in stock.

So hot we couldn’t keep it long enough to list! This is our first Gibson-style slope shoulder dreadnought from Don Musser, and of course the tonewoods are top notch. The Tree Mahogany back and sides, Engelmann Spruce on top, and Ocelot Ear Brazilian Rosewood for the headstock veneer and bridge. Bigleaf Maple bindings tie it together, with a sunburst finish on top that really pops. Tonally, this Advanced Jumbo kicks with clarity and precision, an excellently clean and energetic voice. It holds up handsomely for fingerpicking and flatpicking both! Now, this beauty is already gone, gone, gone, but if you want to commission a Musser for yourself just give us a shout here!

Brand new Buendia! This is an OM for the ages. Sweet trebles, powerful and articulate bass, and smoothly balanced in between. Pale Moon Ebony—as premium a tonewood as any—for the back and sides (and headplate) is paired with a Swiss Alpine Moonspruce top, hand carved knotted rosette, and a French Polish finish for a maximally resonant build.
It’s really something to behold, this Buendia. The 25 inch scale fattens up the trebles, and Leo picked out a beautiful set of Rodgers tuners to bring it all together.

We’ll take one of John Buscarino’s Grand Cabarets any day. These are hands down some of our all-time favorite crossover nylon string guitars, with John’s impeccable build quality bringing buckets of rich nylon tone to an easy-playing setup. This particular Cabaret from 2012 is dressed up with a Carved Madagascar Rosewood back, and features a Cedar/Adirondack Spruce double top for added power and projection. Additionally, this one has a Venetian Cutaway and one of John’s custom-carved soundports in the upper bout. The neck is closer to Classical dimensions with a 1 15/16” nut, but the scale length comes in at a flattop standard 25.4”. When you’re ready to take this Buscarino on stage, it’s been outfitted with a killer Barbera pickup system to boot!

The petite powerhouse: Kevin Ryan’s Abbey Grand Parlor. This full-throated, small-bodied 2018 model is dressed up with Indian Rosewood back and sides, an Italian Spruce top, and Kevin’s acoustic flutes-style arm bevel. The neck was custom commissioned with a wider spacing ( 1 7/8” at the nut) for a spacious lefthand experience, as well as no position markers. Gotoh 510 tuners, Calton flight case, 12 frets to the body an weighing in at four and a half pounds, this 2018 Ryan Abbey is a grand parlor, indeed.

Max Spohn’s 00 model is smooth, smooth, smooth. We love the balanced voice from bass to treble, the clarity and precision from note to note, and the sheer presence and dynamic range. Sweet, indeed. Gorgeous Madagascar Rosewood back and sides are paired with an Italian Spruce top, Scheller tuners, and a unique Fossilized Mammoth rosette and endgraft. Ebano pinless bridge and bindings, Honduran Mahogany neck, and a slinky playability that makes this 00 about as easy playing as breathing.
Max’s 00 model is sweet, powerful, and intimate at the same time. A fabulous fingerstyle instrument.

It’s always a fantastic time when we get to play one of Steve Klein’s feats of modern lutherie, but one we don’t see com that often through our doors is a solid body electric like this 1994 beauty. Solid Spruce body with one-piece Rosewood neck, 19 frets to the body and a 25.4” scale, plus a truly fearsome JCustom Headless Research tremolo system. Steve’s design carries out ergonomics to the very end: this guitar sits perfectly in the lap, neck at a comfortable angle, and the weight distributes just as easily when strapped in and standing up. Seymour Duncan pickups, 5-way switch, volume and tone knobs with a coil tap push-pull. A lifetime of tones wrapped in one effortless package.

Would you like a powerhouse? You’re in luck: our Blanchard Bristlecone is a bombshell dressed to the nines. Ziricote back and sides, European Spruce top, body wedge for creature comfort, and Macassar Ebony bindings to tie it all together. We love the setup, glossy and smooth, and the expansive dynamic range of the voice. Take this baby down to C and it still rings out clear and crisp. We’ve looked for a bad note; haven’t found one yet. Well played, Blanchard.
