1958 Gibson ES-175 D, All Maple
All the way from 1958, we have a Gibson ES-175D. This sunburst hollowbody beast is crafted entirely from Maple, with a Mahogany neck and a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. The ‘D’ in the name designates dual pickups, both of which are original PAF humbuckers. This guitar is all original and carries all the mojo and vibes you’d expect from an instrument of this vintage, especially in the condition it’s in. It’s no surprise that this was the go-to axe for many of jazz guitar’s greats.

2009 Gibson R9 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary DaPra Standard Reissue Les Paul
A prime time example of the Gibson Custom Shop on their A game. We’ve got one of the rare Vic DaPra Les Paul 50th Anniversary 1959 Reissues in the shop from 2009, rendered with a supremely striking sunburst over Maple top, Mahogany body, weighing in a little under nine pounds. COS Bourbon Fade burst looks gorgeous, set off by cream bindings, pickguard, and pickup hardware.

1991 Gibson L-4 CES Master Model, Mahogany/Spruce
Black as night and sweet as sin. This 1991 Gibson Master Model L-4CES is a tall, dark drink of water with a wide range of tones under the hood. Warm neck position down to a quacky bridge position with strong motown vibes; it does it all, and so well at that. Mahogany body with Spruce top, three-way toggle, twin humbuckers, and gold hardware throughout. Parallelogram position markers, 1 1/16″ nut width, tortoise-style pickguard.

1936 Gibson L-00, Mahogany/Adirondack Spruce
Friends, you won’t want to put this one down for a heartbeat. It’s dried out and woken up so much since 1936, this Gibson L-00 weighs next to nothing but packs a powerful, expressive, and frankly loud! voice that works great for fingerpicking, and honestly a fair bit of flatpick work too. Quick and energetic, it’s practically humming. Mahogany back and sides plus Adirondack Spruce top and tiger stripe pickguard, original finish, a recent refret for excellent playability, and replaced Kluson-style tuners for modern tuneability (originals included with case).

This Gibson Tal Farlow signature model is smartly appointed and ready for action. Built in 2000, it’s in excellent shape with Figured Maple body and top, twin humbuckers plus toggle switch, nickle hardware, Rosewood fingerboard, and the ubiquitious faux scroll cutaway design. 1 11/16″ nut and currently setup with flatwound 13s, but you would also have a blast with roundwounds.

1996 Gibson Citation, Tiger Maple/Spruce
This 1996 Gibson Citation model takes out every single stop. Dressed to the nines, upgraded with premium woods and 24 carat gold hardware, then powered by a Gibson BJB humbucker. Back and sides are carved Tiger Maple with tight flame (ditto for the neck); top is carved Sitka Spruce. Extensive MOP inlays along the fretboard, bridge, and culminating with a fleur-de-lis at the headstock between gold Kluson Sealfast tuners. Maple pickguard creates a light contrast to the honeyed Sitka top, and is adorned with the BJB’s volume knob towards the bottom.

2001 Gibson AJ Custom Shop, Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce
Take a load off and pick up this powerhouse Gibson AJ if you’re looking for a helluva time. You’ll need to hold on and keep up, because it’s got heaps of energy and it’s raring to go. This unique Custom Shop comes from 2001 and is so wide awake, it’s scary. Equally at home with fingers as with picks, and it plays great with both a light touch and a more aggressive attack. Kevin Kopp (of Kopp Guitars fame) was working in Gibson’s Custom Shop team when this order came down the line, so no surprise that this one’s got some extra heat in the sauce, so to speak. This beauty is dressed to the nines with Pearl trim, as well as engraved MOP position markers such as you’d otherwise only see on a Gibson banjo fretboard, and they went with a 30s-style sunburst in ultra thin Nitrocellulose Lacquer. As a result of said thinness, there are several finish checks, which we find only adds to the vintage vibes. Old growth Brazilian Rosewood back and sides—gorgeous stuff—plus Adirondack Spruce on top makes for an absolute beast of a guitar. Do yourself a favor, snag this one before it croons itself right out the door.

1979 Gibson Flying V2, Walnut & Maple
The iconic Gibson Flying V—here in its rare V2 form, made only 1979-1982. The V2 was engineered by Tim Shaw to add a sculpted, three dimensional effect to the classic V shape, as well as his unique boomerang humbuckers. This one from 1979 plays handsome as butter with a fretless wonder setup, and comes wrapped in it’s original case to boot.
