This 2021 EJ Henderson 00-28 is really making an impression on us here at the shop—we love when less commonly used tonewoods hit this hard. And in the hands of Jayne Henderson, this OM with walnut back and sides certainly delivers. Classic 28-style vibes meet superb craftsmanship.
Of course, this one features a Red Spruce top, making it elegant in both appearance and tone. Jayne is a good friend of the shop, and we love having her work here at Dream Guitars—get it while you can! Also, check out the video and audio for more!

A rare treat for us today: a gorgeous 2016 000-42 from Asheville’s own EJ Henderson. Coming from the lineage of her father, Wayne Henderson, Jayne’s been building under her own name for a number of years, honing her craft and building up an impressive body of work–and wait list. Highly figured Black Walnut back and sides with dramatic rippling figure, Red Spruce top (plus dark sunburst), and extensive sparkling Abalone 42-style appointments along the body and position markers. Then we come to the bespoke catfish inlaid in great detail between the G and D tuners at the back of the headstock. Jayne’s inlay skill renders crisp lines and fluid curves, leaning on her eye to match the wavy pattern of each piece of pearl to mirror the scales of the fish. The voice on this 000 is quick and crisp, with a lively string energy that makes for a particularly exciting and enjoyable playing experience. Interested in learning more? Give us a shout!

If you need a guitar that stand head and shoulders out from the crowd, this Ergo Noir from Charles Fox is going to be right up your alley. Charles’ Ergo design manages to make a large guitar feel and play like a much smaller instrument–without sacrificing an ounce of volume and tone. The voice on this Ergo Noir stands out to us here at Dream Guitars, and that takes a lot. There’s a quick and lively quality that’s immediately engrossing, with just a touch of added sweetness in the mids to warm it up and fill it out. The body is engineered with a wedge, elevated fingerboard, cutaway, and soundport to enhance the experience of effortless playability, and features an Alpine Spruce top (painted black) and wildly figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides plus red purflings throughout. A Flamed Mahogany neck terminating at Charles’ bespoke headstock shape, and an access panel at the tail, tie it all together. Ready for a modern addition to your collection? Looking for a flattop that not only plays great, but has a little something extra in the voice that’s unlike the others? This 2016 Charles Fox Ergo Noir is the ticket.

2007 Franklin OM featuring Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce. OM guitars are renowned for their versatility, and this one exemplifies that reputation. With wide spacing at the nut and saddle (1 13/16″ and 2 11/32″), it excels whether you’re fingerpicking or flatpicking. Minimalist natural appointments make it unassuming, yet it delivers vivid and powerful tones. This is everything an OM should be.

It is a delight to have this incredibly articulate and expressive OM from Julian Gaffney in the shop today. Julian built this guitar well apprenticing with Ervin Somogyi in 2016, and picked out a dramatic set of Madagascar Rosewood for the back and sides that pairs perfectly with Engelmann Spruce on top, plus segmented rosette, carved bridge, and florentine cutaway. The voice is huge and expansive, especially considering its slender OM proportions; this Gaffney has opened up handsomely since 2016.

We love, love, love this powerhouse 2021 G.6CA from Bryan Galloup. We picked out a fantastically straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood set for the back and sides, which was then paired with Italian Spruce for smoothness and sustain to match the power and dynamic response. A multiscale setup of 26 inches at the bass to 25 at the treble adds a touch of sweetness to the high-end as well. Moreover, this beauty has an arm bevel and a smoothly curving venetian cutaway for added creature comforts.

Brand new at the time of listing, this 2024 Galloup G.6C is dressed in stunning Koa and Cedar. You may be wondering, a Galloup in Cedar? Yes, it’s that rare. Which means this is some seriously fine Cedar for the top. Bryan has rigorous standards for the tops of his guitars, and Cedar rarely makes the cut, so you know this one is special. Reconstructed stone appointments in a lovely mint green provide a striking contrast to the earthy tones of the Cedar and Koa. This guitar features all the qualities we know and love about Galloup guitars, with a fresh twist on materials. It’s one of those instruments that’s hard to put down and makes it tough to get any work done.

Rare is an understatement when it comes to this extraordinary Gibson Nick Lucas, crafted sometime between 1929 and 1933. Featuring Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides, this guitar is a true gem from Gibson’s golden era.
Adding to its story, based on our research it appears to have been retopped by Gibson in the 1960s. This meticulous work not only explains the pristine condition of the finish but also gives insight into subtle details like the sunburst style on the top, the differences in binding between the top and back, and the laminated bridge plate—features that were not typical of Gibson’s 1930s build practices.
At its core, this is a prewar Nick Lucas Special—a rare and iconic model—with the coveted combination of Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, a 12-fret neck, and an ornate headstock inlay. To date, only a handful of Brazilian Rosewood Nick Lucas models with 12-fret necks have ever surfaced, making this one of the rarest examples of an already legendary instrument we’ve ever seen.
This Gibson Nick Lucas combines historical significance with undeniable beauty and tonal prowess. A collector’s centerpiece with a unique voice to match.Other keywords/misspellings:Luthier, lutherie, vintage, heirloom,

It can easily transition into fingerstyle, singer-songwriter vibes, or really just about anything you ask of it. An instrument of this quality clearly shows why James Goodall guitars are so popular in the guitar world.

If Michael Greenfield has ever built a dud, we haven’t seen it. Quite the opposite, in fact. We haven’t seen a Greenfield that didn’t knock us out right out the gate. Take this 2018 G1 as a great example. Effortless playability, a voice with sweetness and riches and a slight midrange bump that makes for an engrossing, complete sound–the best tonewoods you’re like to find on a modern build–ergonomic features to maximize player comfort. This G1 does it all. The back and sides are Mike’s reserve grade, 80-year-old Cocobolo, here paired with an Adirondack Spruce top, Honduran Mahogany neck, and a Laskin-inspired arm bevel.
