Brand New de Wit 15″, French Walnut/Sinker Redwood
Gijs De Wit brings us this brand new 15” model. Featuring Gij’s own “Scooped” shoulder design, In lieu of a cutaway this scooped shoulder offers access to higher notes. This isn’t the only innovative design present, carbon fiber reinforced lightweight bracing, and an active braceless back to name a few. The top on this creature is an Old Growth Sinker Redwood, and an antique French Walnut back and sides. The neck is made of wenge, buttoned up with some incredibly smooth Alessi Tuners.

Our first guitar from Gjis De Wit packs a punch. His Modified Dreadnought body, here rendered with florentine cutaway and angled bindings, plays great and has a voice equal parts power and articulation. It’s an excellent choice for fingerstyle play, or strumming when you need chords to remain crisp and clear. The multiscale setup is 26-25” with a unique fanning that makes the first position feel like a standard fretboard. Back and sides are gorgeously figured Narra, paired with Bearclaw German Spruce on top. The neck is actually Padauk, but Gjis has veneered its length in Ebony—ditto for the Spanish Cedar bridge—which creates a great contrast to the Narra/Spruce color scheme. De Wit painstakingly inlaid the headstock, heel, and bindings with a geometric motif, and installed premium Alessi tuners for added class. Additionally, the veneered bridge features individual phosphor bronze saddles for each string. All of this comes wrapped up in a swanky custom Art Case dressed up with leather—a fitting house for a well-dressed guitar. Interested in taking this one for a spin? Give us a shout!

We are pleased to present to you a brand new Model No.04 from Dion James. Not only is this instrument beautiful in sight and sound, but also in its construction, which is one of the more unique instruments we have seen in quite some time. Where to begin? Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides, Sitka Spruce for the top (this Sitka was cut in the 1970s; it’s been well-seasoned). As for the back and sides, this guitar features an active hollow core back, similar to a double top, carbon fiber bridge plate, U brace, elevated fingerboard, and a cylindrically arched top and back. We could go on and on about what all makes this absolute beast of a guitar unique and powerful. From the custom-made Scheller tuners to the captured nut, and the subtle multiscale of 25.2-25.6”, this guitar is AMAZING. Look and listen for yourself

Jayne Henderson is a good friend of the shop, we love her work. The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. Speaking of trees, this guitar used to be a White Oak, or well at least the back and sides of the instrument were. This is an uncommon tonewood, but in the right hands it is every bit as incredible as any of your standard “dry” tonewoods. This OM-18 is dressed in Carpathian Spruce on top– Donning the name “DOC” on the heel cap is an homage to the late great Doc Watson. Need we say more? If you’re looking to get into an incredible and unique OM that can do practically everything? Look no further.

This guitar sounds and looks incredible. It includes Alessi tuners for optimum tuning stability and aesthetics. It is a delight to have this incredibly articulate and expressive OM from Julian Gaffney in the shop today. Julian built this guitar well apprenticing with Ervin Somogyi in 2016, and picked out a dramatic set of Madagascar Rosewood for the back and sides that pairs perfectly with Engelmann Spruce on top, plus segmented rosette, carved bridge, and florentine cutaway. The voice is huge and expansive, especially considering its slender OM proportions; this Gaffney has opened up handsomely since 2016.

This is the fourth G.2 that Mike built in collaboration with Guitar Gal for Robin’s Special Reserve series–pulling out the stops for a showstopper piece. The G.2 is Mike’s Grand Auditorium model with its 16″ lower bout and heaps of power, here boasting a combination of 200-year-old Brazilian Rosewood with a 30-year-old Alpine Moonspruce top. To say this guitar is rib-rattling feels like an understatement. It’s had a few years to break in and wake up, which it’s done handsomely, and is ready for more. Very well-cared for to boot, this Greenfield looks and feels as good as it sounds, and that’s a high bar.
