1994 Klein Electric
It’s always a fantastic time when we get to play one of Steve Klein’s feats of modern lutherie, but one we don’t see com that often through our doors is a solid body electric like this 1994 beauty. Solid Spruce body with one-piece Rosewood neck, 19 frets to the body and a 25.4” scale, plus a truly fearsome JCustom Headless Research tremolo system. Steve’s design carries out ergonomics to the very end: this guitar sits perfectly in the lap, neck at a comfortable angle, and the weight distributes just as easily when strapped in and standing up. Seymour Duncan pickups, 5-way switch, volume and tone knobs with a coil tap push-pull. A lifetime of tones wrapped in one effortless package.

Add to Compare1963 Gibson ES-335
A sweet piece of vintage finery! We’ve landed a gorgeous Gibson ES-335 from 1963 in cherry finish, nylon nut and saddles, and the chunkier neck profile desired by collectors and players alike. Additionally, the pickup configuration on this ES-335 is one of the rare PAF transition versions: the neck pickup is PAF, the bridge pickup patented.
Slinky setup, and weighing in just over eight pounds, this 335 is heaps of fun to play. We love the cherry finish; it’s got the marks to prove it’s been making lots of good music for decades, with the finish worn down on the neck for that smooth, smooth feel.Other keywords: gibson guitars, semihollow, semi-hollow, patent applied for, kluson
Add to Compare2012 Santa Cruz Cowboy Singer, All-Mahogany
The Don Edwards signature 00 from Santa Cruz Guitar Company is a fantastic example of the cowboy crooner’s fingerpicking partner: easy on the hands, crisp and clear, with an even decay that doesn’t get in the way of the vocals. We’ve landed a beautiful lil Mahogany number here, appropriately dubbed the SCGC Cowboy Singer in recognition of western music’s inimitable Don Edwards. This one is #17, built in 2012 with an all-Mahogany body and 12-fret neck with Don’s signature and star inlays. Slotted headstock, Waverly tuners with Snakewood knobs—and this handsome plucker is only a little over three and a half pounds! The voice has a clean and balanced definition with a scallop-braced top, and packs a lot of projection, especially for a small-bodied guitar. It’s really a fun one to pick up; it’s really a hard one to put down.

Leo Buendia’s first 12 String! It’s even better than we expected—and our expectations were quite high. Leo used his Jumbo body with a 14-fret neck to really harness the strength and power of a 12 String. Primo Brazilian Rosewood back and sides pairs with Adirondack Spruce for added projection, Rosewood neck for sustain, and dyed burl appointments in Leo’s refined style.
We love working with our clients and our builders to bring about such world class instruments as this Buendia 12-String Jumbo. Are you ready to commission your own build? Gil Yaron’s as close as you get to the vintage real deal, without taking out a second mortgage. This is a particularly faithful 1959 LP Replica, built in 2016. For the body and neck, Gil used old growth Mahogany and paired it with a flamed Maple top from his private stock, pre-1970 CITES Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Celluloid Nitrate position markers, and comprehensively detailed relic finish in Nitro. Gil’s PAF humbuckers and wiring are 100% exact to 1959 specs, and this particular one features NOS 50s harness and lead wires.
This Gil Yaron plays and sings as the quintessential LP. A wide, wide range of tones, and in a Replica package that is nearly indistinguishable from the original.Other keywords: electric guitar, rock, new old stock, relic’d, gil yaron guitars, nylon

This 2018 16 Inch model from Jordan McConnell is a lot like Paul’s personal McConnell: Brazilian Rosewood over Moonspruce, 26.25-25.5″ multiscale, and oh. so. beautiful. The fingerstyle response is surgically precise, from Standard to Cadd9 and onward to more esoteric tunings. We are Jordan’s exclusive representative, and he is no longer taking orders but building guitars to his own specifications. Interested? Give us a shout!

We’re excited to finally work with longtime luthier and tonewood guru, Don Musser, on an OM decked out in gorgeous woods and with a tone that cuts through the mix with a smooth, balanced response. Don pulled out some gorgeous Costa Rican Cocobolo for the back and sides (check out the brick-red hues), and used a set of fiercely tight-grained Sitka Spruce for the top, freshly revoiced for maximum resonance.
Bindings come in Curly Bigleaf Maple; the bridge and headstock veneer are Amazon Rosewood, Honduran Mahogany neck—the list goes on. We’d expect no less from a tonewood dealer of Don’s reputation. A high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish helps bring out every detail of the woods; you can almost shave in its reflection. The headstock is inlaid with Don’s “A harvest Angel” motif.
The voice is characterized by a balanced response that’s consistent along the fretboard and between strings. We found this Musser OM was a great choice for fingerpicking in standard tuning, as well as Open D. When dug into, the guitar maintained an even response, but we also found that even delicately plucked notes had sustain consistent with an aggressive attack. Don has just revoiced the top for added resonance, and the voice has an even lusher, more spacious tone than before!
Smooth and easy, both on the ears and the eyes. Don Musser does the OM right.Other keywords: lutherie, luthier, tone wood, cocabolo, big leaf, gotoh, nitro finish, honduras mahogany

Powerful in an effortless-playing package: our latest OM-C from Max Spohn of Germany. This is a fantastic instrument for fingerstyle work, can hold up for strumming and flat picking too, and is oh. so. lovely to behold both visually and acoustically. Gorgeous Cocobolo back and sides for richness and overtones, Swiss Moonspruce on top for evenness and clarity—the voice is quick, crisp, smooth. An excellent candidate for open tunings. Scheller tuners set against a Spruce headstock veneer, and geometric inlays of purflings and horn. You’ll find that ringing in the soundhole as well (itself with a flat edge on the bass side to parallel the rosette). Tight waist, and pinless Ebano bridge with a scalloped saddle.
This Spohn OM-C stands apart from the crowd of modern guitars with Max’s particular aesthetic, and exceptionally precise voice.Other keywords: fingerstyle, fingerpicking, moon spruce, swiss spruce, modern guitar

***Update! We’ve secured CITES paperwork for the Brazilian Rosewood on this beauty, which means we can ship this BRW Galloup internationally!***
Bryan Galloup takes the science of lutherie seriously: and the experiment proves sweetly successful. This G.2C, Bryan’s grand auditorium body here with a cutaway, has an incredible dynamic range, lots of gears, and a surgically crisp projection and note separation. A finer fingerstyle guitar, you’ll be hard pressed to find. Straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with Italian Spruce on top and an intricate series of inlays around the rosette, along the back, and between the tuner posts really brings together a modern, geometric aesthetic.
It’s hard to put this guitar down. Once we had the G.2C in our hands, we really just lost track of time. This Galloup will make some enemies when you bring it home; your other guitars will be collecting dust.Other keywords: lutherie, luthier, guitarbuilding, guitar science, dream team, fingerstyle, fingerpicking, contemporary guitar, resonant, exclusive

G.2C powerhouse! Bryan Galloup’s grand auditorium strikes a well-honed balance between power and clarity, dynamism and definition. It’s an incredible guitar, dressed to the nines in straight-grained Wenge and Italian Spruce and some really impressive inlays along the headstock, rosette, and back. Do we love this guitar? Yes, yes we do. It’s a testament to Bryan’s tuning technologies that this guitar has such a finely honed voice, and plays so well in so many different settings. We loved taking this one into C tunings just as much as Standard. If there’s a bad note on this G.2C, we haven’t found it yet.

Pure magic beneath your fingers. This Casimi C2S is a dream machine of modern lutherie, the marriage of a distinct aesthetic with gossamer playability and thunderclap power. Built in 2019, this C2S is nearly new, boasts tightly flamed Hawaiian Koa sides (double sided with a Wenge veneer inside) and a pale Alpine Moonspruce top, and is adorned with Matthias and Matthew’s brass, copper, and Hawaiian black lipped pearl appointments. A work of art as much for the eye as the ear, to say nothing of the hand. 12 frets to the body with a 25.5” scale makes for power, clarity, and added warmth to really fill out the voice; this Casimi has an exquisitely articulate balance from string to string. A fingerstyle guitar in its own category.

What better endorsement for a guitar than Martin Simpson’s own two hands? We’ve got a 2009 Sobell New World model formerly owned by the man himself, with some gorgeous dark African Blackwood back and sides and German Spruce on top. The fretboard features a slightly wider nut (1.78 inches) for easy fretting, and the setup is butter smooth and easy. A Highlander pickup for a gorgeous amplified tone, and then there’s a hardcore Calton flight case to keep the New World safe between home and stage.
The voice has opened up sweetly since 2009, with liquid trebles and a round, warm midrange response that’s a real pleasure to play around with in DADGAD and beyond. You can really even take this Sobell down to C# territory without the bass response waxing floppy. You’ve got enough projection to flatpick your way through a session without getting lost in the crowd, and when you’re playing solo compositions later on a delicate touch will still bring out a clear and dynamic tone.
Hands down, this Sobell New World is firing on all cylinders.Other keywords: lutherie, luthier, stefan sober, fingerstyle, fingerpicking, maple
