This is the Custom Shop 1959 ES-335 DOT Reissue VOS Limited Edition. Not to be confused with other ’59 Reissues, this is one of 250 Limited Edition sunbursts ever made with the VOS treatment from Gibson. VOS guitars have a aged look and feel thanks to the satin finish, brushed pickup covers and bridge, etc It looks it’s reissue ‘age’ of 50+ years old, but of course is in mint condition. This guitar was actually made in the same molds as the original ’59 was. This is the finest reissue version of the 1959 ES-335 you will find. The MSRP on this model is $5649. From the Gibson webpage: This limited production model from Gibson Custom captures this desirable classic in greater detail than any ‘reissue’-style guitar previously produced. It is truly an instrument born in the image of its inspiration. Starting with the traditional plain laminated maple top, back and sides, with single-ply creme binding on both the top and back, the 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue is true to the original’s ’59 specs in almost every detail. Its one-piece, 24-1/2″ inch scale length mahogany neck features a long tenon, a 22-fret Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays and a rounded ’59 neck profile. In addition to its period-correct look, the 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue recreates the legendary tone of the original model by utilizing a pair of Gibson’s renowned ’57 Classic humbucking pickups, which is the closest thing to original ‘PAF’ pickups on the market today. High-quality CTS volume and tone potentiometers with ‘bumble bee’ capacitors offer a fundamental electronics package, thus insuring the guitar’s unique tone is captured and delivered with the utmost accuracy and originality. Other traditional appointments include vintage tulip tuners, a holly headstock veneer and all nickel hardware, including an ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece. This 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue in Antique Vintage Sunburst comes with a custom shop reissue case, certificate of authenticity and is strictly limited to just 250 guitars per finish.

Leo Posch has a great reputation for building guitars that are inherently old souls. Somehow he can craft guitars today that you’d swear are 50-100 years old. This model CLG, 0 size guitar is a great example. Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce with no bindings, just a great smokey sunburst and lots of attitude. The instant we played this guitar we could hear the great old Gibson L-0 voice, only this one plays perfectly up the entire neck and has a straight neck and tuners that work perfectly. So you get the best of what’s vintage and none of the hassles. This is a killer blues or rag guitar, but of course it can do anything you put into it. Great little beast…

We trimmed in Curly Maple trim instead of the typical white Ivoroid for a more beautiful look. We also requested a short 24.9″ scale for easy tension and had him install a McIntyre Feather pickup so it’s ready for stage. The tone is strong with the woody character an all-Mahogany body produces.

We custom ordered this Veillette High Tuned 12 string Gryphon with everything you could ask for. It starts with mahogany and spruce for the body, we then added a deep red sunburst, onboared DTAR Wavelenght 18v pickup system and an onboard tuner that is super easy to use. We finished it off with an upgrade to a hardshell case. We absolutely love this design by Joe Veillette, imagine a glorious sounding 12 string capoed at the 10th fret. That what you get hear, a short scale, easy to play unison 12 string (no octaves), that’s tuned high to D. The result is a huge and beautiful double course sound, like a mandolin only richer and warmer. Any guitarist can play it, using everything you already know, but you’ll get a fresh sound that will inspire you and your band.
