It’s easy to lose track of time with this one. Jeff Bamburg’s OMB model comes to us as a responsive midsize guitar that soaks up open tunings and keeps the notes crisp and lively with a cantilevered neck and premium tonewoods. Gorgeous Bearclaw Sitka Spruce on top is here paired with Walnut back and sides and Curly Maple bindings, and we found the Walnut lent a dry, woody flavor to the voice that kept the mids and basses from sounding muddy when we went down to Open G. Rather, we found this 2009 OMB articulate and well-defined when we did so. Again, it’s easy to lose track of time with a responsive and engrossing guitar like this Bamburg in your lap. And we can’t think of a better recommendation than that.

Each guitar, as each of us, has its own voice. As a luthier I have an idea of how that voice should sound. It is this voice or “sound in my head” that I am attempting to capture in my instruments.I have had the good fortune to meet and study with some of the great luthiers of our time. A combination of insight and inspiration I have gained from these fine artisans as well as ideas of my own are reflected in my work. Attention is paid to every detail in order that the guitar may be a tool that fits seamlessly into the musician’s hand.
