2005 Phillips Parlor German Silver, Handmade
Ron Phillips is one of the few custom builders making resonators completely by hand right down to spinning his own cones. This cutaway Parlor design was made popular by Del Rey, one of many fine guitarists who play Phillips resonators. Others include Orville Johnson and the late great, John Jackson. The key element of Phillips resonators is the round attack that is reminiscent of the 1920 Nationals. This guitar has a fat and mellow tone with power to spare. The small body is a joy to hold sitting or standing.

2005 Phillips Parlor Resophonic Steel/Steel
Ron Phillips hand makes his resonators with vintage style and big tone. He specializes in small body resos, like this little Parlor, that have a big bark. Del Rey, the late John Jackson, Orville Johnson and many other great slide players have turned to Ron to find their voice. This little beast is a steel body with a powder coat finish so it’s as easy to take care of as it is to play. It sounds great played fingerstyle or slide and is setup to move between the two.
2005 Phillips OM German Silver/German Silver
Ron Phillips started years ago making by hand his exquisite metal body resonator guitars. He uses German Silver and spins his own cones which enables him to get his distinctive sound that is at once powerful and mellow. It is reminiscent of a 1920s National that has matured fully. The attack is not as harsh as some resos and overtones are very musical. His OM body is 14 3/4″ at the lower bout and has a rich, full sound that is equally at home accompanying voice or playing slide or fingerstyle. The woven grills and diamond cone cover grills are not only beautiful but really allow the sound to come forth proudly and his laminated neck is ultra stable. Rafael Moreno is a rising star building in Andalucia Spain, known for it’s long history of Flamenco guitar. This Flamenco Negra model is crafted from Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce and is a true Flamenco design. The bracing, bridge and setup all come together for a strong, aggressive sound with the desired growl but also the warmth and beauty desired in a Negra. The Dreadnought is the traditional workhorse of acoustic guitar music. With a large, deep body and wide waist, RainSong’s DR has the powerful bass and ringing treble of a great rhythmic guitar, but still maintains a wonderfully balanced sound, with clear distinction among individual notes. From rhythm to lead, the DR makes its presence known. Capable of cutting through admirably in any acoustic setting, the DR is loud enough to compete with banjoes, mandolins and other traditional volume hogs.

Brand New Ramin C-Stage Classical, Amazon Rosewood/European Spruce
Here we’ve landed a brand new C-Stage classical from Istanbul’s Ramin Fallah, dressed up with premium tonewoods and some fresh aesthetics to envigorate the classical format. Amazon Rosewood back and sides pair up with a European Spruce top that features lots of dramatic bearclaw figuring and is french polished for maximum resonance. The body is finished elsewhere with poly for added durability. 650mm scale plus a 52mm nut will feel right at home, and at the headstock we find a understated geometric motif inlaid into the Wenge headplate that adds a touch of modernity that we find quite refreshing. Additionally, Ramin has installed his take on a soundport at the bass side upper bout, a feature that aids the player in hearing their tone.
