2003 Beneteau Concert Standard Quilted Mahogany/Adirondack Red
As a dealer we get just 2 or 3 of Marc’s guitars a year and they typically sell before they arrive. So we are always happy to find a preowned example. This one may as well be new, it is absolutely dead mint and features terrific tone woods. With its figured mahogany back & sides and wide grain Adirondack it has excellent bass response to go with its great clarity.

2006 Beneteau Mini Jumbo Cocobolo/Adirondack Red
Marc’s MJ design offers a lot of power with it’s 16″ bout. The combination here of Cocobolo Rosewood and Adirondack is perfect for the player who likes his power with a full voice. There is lovely midrange mixed with crystal clear Adirondack trebles and and ample bass response. Marc understand beauty and top notch construction are sure to please. This one includes a K&K pickup and a Calton case so you can take it with you. Canadian guitar are rising drastically due to the dollar so this is a great time to find a preowned Beneteau and this one is super.

2001 Beneteau Concert Standard Cocobolo/Adirondack
We see very few preowned Beneteau guitars and they never last very long. This one features a stunning set of Cocobolo Rosewood with deep wine red hues and it’s topped with Adirondack Spruce that’s fully of silky medullary rays that prove it’s well quartered. This Concert Standard again shows off Marc’s clear and natural voice that is strong on fundamental tones for exquisite clarity and separation. This is a superb fingerstyle guitar that’s equally at home being strummed and it comes complete with a cutaway and a B-Band pickup system.

2005 Beneteau M Cocobolo/European
The Beneteau M is a full sized OM design a full 16″ at the lower bout creating a full, rich sound. This one was customized with Cocobolo Rosewood and European Spruce, cutaway and an armrest bevel so it’s a truly complete guitar. The Cocobolo/Euro combination makes it quick with strong projection. This is one very versatile guitar.

2003 Beneteau 000-12C Ziricote/Adirondack
Marc makes amazing 000s and this one is a cannon. A 12 fret tone machine with the cutaway for full access. Featuring Ziricote back and sides with a powerful Adirondack top for terrific projection with great clarity. Big full trebles and great pop in the bass strings. Another great one from Mr. Beneteau.

Brand New Beneteau OM, Flamed Granadillo/Torrefied Sitka Spruce
What a treat to have this beautiful OM from Marc Beneteau. Flamed Granadillo and Torrefied Sitka Spruce. Sound port, arm bevel, pinless bridge—all the creature comforts and immense tone. What more could a guitar enthusiast want? Comfort, aesthetics, and tone all in equal parts. This guitar is evidence of why so many greats choose Marc’s instruments. While it alone will not make you sound like the fingerstyle master Don Ross, it’s certainly not a bad start.

2009 Berkowitz Baritone, Brazilian Rosewood/German Spruce
From 2009, we have a Berkowitz Baritone made of some outrageously nice Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce on top. This classic fingerstyle tonewood combo really comes to life in the lower baritone register of this instrument. Quite often, a bespoke baritone guitar has a huge sound, but it also feels cumbersome, which can be a bit too much for some. This Baritone, however, plays much like a regular scale guitar. Speaking of which, this axe has a multi-scale: 28.625″ on the bass end and 27.5″ on the high end. Already equipped with a D-TAR magnetic pickup, this guitar is ready for the stage and studio. Along with bevels for comfort, this guitar features a Manzer-style wedge, which we absolutely love for large body guitars. Check out our demo and see this creature for yourself.

New Berkowitz F6-CW Limited Dream Series Brazilian/German
This is the second Dream Series Limited Edition that we commissioned from David Berkowitz. This time around we added a Manzer Wedge to his F6-C model with old growth Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce top. In addition there is a venetian cutaway, side soundport and bound headstock and fingerboard. Lastly it is wrapped in a Karura Sentinal Case of white and blue.
But what you won’t see in the pictures is the rich, sensous voice of this guitar. The wedge makes for superb balance and the trebles swell off the soundboard while rich overtones develop. This is a guitar that produces a lot of sound with a light touch, but also welcomes more energy and has the headroom to keep giving. The wedge also makes it very comfortable and it plays with ease. 2022 Bernabe Royal, Cocobolo Rosewood/Cedar
Master builder Paulino Bernabe II brings us this Royal model, constructed of Cedar and Cocobolo. This guitar exhibits Bernabé’s attention to detail with extremely well-executed binding and trim work throughout, all the sonority one could hope for from a Cedar and Rosewood classical, with excellent feel and clarity. 2002 Bernabe Concierto, Brazilian Rosewood/German Spruce
Paulino Bernabe offers us a lovely voice and powerful bass with this Concierto model from 2002. Brazilian Rosewood body with German Spruce on top (one of our favorite combinations), plus a 650mm scale and 50mm nut for a familiar, easy setup. This one’s opened up handsomely since 2002, and feels lively and energetic in hand. Consistent note definition and separation across the registers, with a little extra kick to the bass that helps this one push out and fill the concert hall.

1983 Bernabe Classical Indian/Bearclaw
We’ve got an excellent piece of Classical guitar history in the shop today: a 1983 Paulino Bernabe Sr. in Indian Rosewood and Bearclaw Spruce. After learning the art of Classical lutherie from none other than José Ramirez III, Bernabe Sr. opened his own shop in 1969, where he pioneered a new bracing system.This particular instrument has opened up fabulously over the past three decades, and now has a clean and articulate voice to match its fierce projection. The trebles are crisp and focused; bass notes warm but articulate! Setup to play smoother than butter, this Bernabe Sr. Classical is in stellar shape with many more years under its belt. Wrapped up in a Mark Leaf flight case, this guitar is ready to travel anywhere, at any time, for any gig.

2020 Big Hollow 00, Cocobolo/Moonspruce
This 00 from Bevan Frost of Big Hollow Guitars is a beauty, dressed up with Cocobolo back and sides and a Moonspruce top. This guitar is an incredibly comfortable instrument in hand, very dramatic curves that lend to that comfort. As well as being comfortable to play it has so much power for an instrument so petite. An excellent blend of tradition and modernity.

Brand New Big Hollow OM, Koa/Lutz Spruce
Gather round! Our latest Brand New OM from Bevan Frost of Big Hollow Guitars has arrived. Tight flamed Koa back and sides—take a moment to appreciate that lovely figuring—pair up with Lutz Spruce on top in a gorgeous sunburst. Oil Varnish finish throughout for maximum resonance, which this Big Hollow has in spades, and Alessi tuners at the slotted headstock for an added touch of elegance. The voice is smooth and balanced, an excellent player for fingerstyle, but with enough power under the hood to hold up under a flatpick as well, thanks to the versatile nature of Lutz Spruce. Bevan’s fit and finish are fantastic; the pyramid bridge is well executed, and we love the use of Bloodwood bindings to make the sunburst and Koa pop. A bird’s beak headstock joint on Mahogany neck is the cherry on top.
