New Cervantes Rodriguez Signature Cocobolo/Red Cedar
This is the Signature model hand made by Alejandro Cervantes himself. The design is based on the work of Spanish luthier Miguel Rodriguez. For his handmade signature version Alejandro chose beautiful Cocobolo Rosewood, revered for it’s warm voice that is similar to Brazilian Rosewood. The top is Red Cedar and completes the voice with it’s full, sweet character. The rosette and trim are elegant and original as well. We are very pleased to have located this wonderfully mature Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood Ruck Concert guitar from 1978. We can tell you without hesitation that this is a superb Ruck guitar. The Brazilian Rosewood is dark and rich with tight grain that’s getting harder and harder to find these days. The spruce top, braced in the Fleta style with 9 fan braces, has reached a warm patina and so has the voice. The Spruce is fully alive, warm and full with great power, projection and clarity as well. Anyone seeking a world class concert guitar will love this one.

Here we have a like new condition Nightingale crafted from Rosewood and Engelmann spruce. It is outfitted with the now famous armrest bevel, venetian cutaway, abalone top trim, 12th fret floral, custom fingerboard terminis and gold Gotoh tuners. The Nightingale is a superb large body fingerstyle guitar that also strums and flatpicks. It’s a versatile design, at once elegant and powerful. The Engelmann top here lends warmth and a clear fundamental note resulting in a sweet voice with just the right amount of sparkle.

Here’s a very unique Goodall guitar with a master grade Redwood top, Purple Heart bindings and Dove inlays. These details give this Goodall GC a very different look and sound. We’ve been waiting anxiously for this next Dream Series from Bill Wise. We knew it would be special because we added a few new treats to the already outstanding design which features the best Brazilian Rosewood money can buy. For this one Bill gave us his new armrest Bevel in Makore, a full fingerboard border and a fingerboard inlay of wooden leaves in fall colors. The voice is full of rich color, brilliant highs and perfectly balanced lows. The Charis sound is very special as any current owner would tell you and the Brazilian here really is special, we rarely see it so tight grained and uniform anymore. Bill decided on an Italian top for this one which enhances the clarity and shimmer.

The Fishman Ellipse Blend pickup and microphone system was installed by Martin and comes standard with this model.

This spruce is from a log that was salvaged from a floating home for Alaskan loggers decades ago. It is premium Sitka Spruce with all the tonal benefits of having been submerged, something that some theorize made Stradavarius Violins so special. This is a very unique and special guitar.

We are amazed by the tone of this guitar. The bass is huge and pounding and surprisingly the trebles are strong enough to coexist in balance. Ray put a lot of effort into the cosmetics as well with a complex and beautiful bridge design, inlays on the side of the neck and the intricate rosette. The modified Dreadnought design makes it a great choice for the player who seeks a guitar for both fingerstyle and flatpicking.

Here’s a custom shop Martin OM-28 complete with cutaway, sunburst and Fishman pickup system. This was built to order for a pro player and it’s a great one. The sunburst is gorgeous and give this guitar it’s rich, traditional flare. The cutaway grants full access to the dusty end of the fingerboard and it’s complete with a Fishman pickup and preamp so it’s ready for the road.

This is a very special Santa Cruz Dreadnought, a sweetheart 12 fretter made for the 2004 NAMM show as a Luthier Series custom and signed by Luthier Eric Poulsen (now an independent luthier) and Joseph K. It was originally owned by Nashville musician Dan Kelly. It is crafted from rich and powerful Cocobolo Rosewood and topped with Sitka Spruce for power and a rich tone. The 12 fret design puts the bridge in the sweet spot where it can shake the whole top efficiently. We find this one can go from bluegrass cannon to fingerstyle gem in a flash. This D has been played enough to be wide open and sounding alive. There is also a John Pearse armrest for comfort or it can be easily removed if you prefer.

Here we have a Signature Series guitar handmade by Kenny Hill and featuring a double top, slightly raised fingerboard, soundports and 640mm scale. The body is culled from beautiful Brazilian Rosewood and the top is Red Cedar and Engelmann Spruce with Nomex between them for a warm, powerful voice. The design makes for good projection and the soundports allow the player to enjoy a bit more of the tone as well. Tests by numerous luthiers support the fact to the sound is also improved for the audience. This is a highly customized Kenny Hill offering an array of wonderful features for the serious player.
