While known more so for his classical guitars, Darren Hippner has joyfully created a small batch of Brazilian Rosewood Parlor guitars in true traditional fashion. We will have a few of these and we are excited. This handsome guitar is exquisitely crafted from quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood and Engelmann Spruce. It is X braced and lightly built for a true Parlor sound that is lively and vibrant. This is a big sounding little charmer with rich, complex tone. It’s very pleasing to hold and to play. Designed for extra light strings (.011s) or silk & steel it’s also extremely easy to play. This is the perfect…. well… parlor guitar for musical enjoyment in your home. A few years back several of our customers told about David Flammang’s guitars. They told us of his wonderful vintage style and tone and that his quality was top notch. Well they were indeed correct and we’re proud to now be offering Flammang Guitars on a regular basis. The EL35 is David’s version of the great 00 guitars of the past. This guitar is lightweight and has a sound reminiscent of the old Gibson L-00s. The dark sunburst is stunning and give this Mahogany/Adirondack beast a beautiful facade. When you play this guitar you can almost see luthier Bill Tippin sitting in his shop dreaming of what he might create for the biggest custom guitar show in the country. It’s clear that he pulled one his best sets of Brazilian Rosewood and topped it with a rare and beautiful Bearclaw European Spruce from his special stash. The tone is nothing short of majestic, you get cavernous, deep bass response and the trademark Tippin strong trebles. The Bravado/SJ, body shape is versatile offering fingerstyle balance and flatpicking energy. You’ll need to look at every picture to enjoy all the many elegant details Bill put into this guitar, handmade MOP Sparkle purflings, Koa Bindings, wooden inlay and the stunning butt wedge.

Ralph Bown is one of the top builders in the U.K. who’s instruments are played by the likes of John Renbourn, Clive Carroll and Martin Simpson. Bown Guitars have long been a favorite of ours here at Dream Guitars since Martin Simpson showed us his years ago. We are proud to be the exclusive U.S. dealer for Bown Guitars but we don’t get very many at all and most of those presell so we are thrilled to have a rare preowned Bown guitar for you and this one has some voice. It has Ralph’s distinct treble strings that are full and vibrant and clear as a bell. This being a J size it has beautiful bass response that is not overpowering but is indeed powerful. The understated beauty is elegant and refined and the playability and condition are superb. These are very rare and very special, if you are after a unique voice that’s inspiring and ear-catching.

This Goodall Traditional series employs a master grade Adirondack Red Spruce top and classic herringbone top trim & rosette for a tone and look that harkens back to the best guitars of yesterday. This fiesty 000 has an impressive set of Madagascar Rosewood with breathtaking figure. But close your eyes and you’ll notice the full voice and headroom to spare. Blues or traditional players will love this one.

Ebony and Adirondack is a tonewood combination that offers power, clarity and deep warmth. This Petros guitar has a sweet but strong voice perfectly suited for fingerstyle and can easily handle genres including Celtic, Blues, Traditional and Folk. Jorma Kaukonen, Doc Watson and Leo Kottke have all owned and recorded with Roy Noble guitars. He’s a player’s builder who is all about tone and this guitar has got tone. For this guitar Roy brings together punchy Cocobolo Rosewood with warm Cedar for a voice that is uniquely rich and powerful. The woods are absolutely stunning, the Cocobolo features sapwood down the center of the back and the Cedar is a very rare bearclaw piece. The colored rope style bindings create a beautiful look as well.
