This Kirk Sand Rosewood Model electric nylon guitar is the definition of versatile. It is surprisingly loud unplugged, with a present bass and crisp trebles. Plugged in though, is where this guitar shines. The Barbera Soloist Pickup lends a warm tone, and the onboard EQ gives the player plenty of room for adjustment. It plays like an electric guitar, smooth as silk. The craftsmanship and woods are top notch as well. The Cocobolo back and sides are a wonderful chocolatey hue. The Spruce top is tight grained, and aged to a nice amber shade. This one is ready for the stage…

It’s back! This one is the third in our Dream Series from Bill and we are so lucky to have it back in our shop. It has had eight years to mature and blossom as an instrument and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Bill is a master builder who achieves his voice in every instrument he makes, and the set of Brazilian Rosewood on this guitar is magnificent. It’s very tight grained and has a dramatic theme in the center of the back. This guitar is dear to our hearts, but is in need of a good home. Call us today to give it one!

This Nightingale Solist by Kevin Ryan is an absolute knock out. The Brazilian Rosewood Kevin used for the back and sides is stunningly figured and the Alpine spruce top is super tightly grained with great silking, so you know it came from a hand-split billet. Tonally this guitar hits all the right spots: The Brazilian and Alpine Spruce give this guitar a great bottom end with a slight reverb quality, while the trebles remain full and present. It’s a fingerpickers dream, with a perfectly balanced voice and ideal neck profile, but really loves the pick as well!

You can take this Journey OF420 anywhere, by the fire, up a mountain, even in an airplane; Journey Instruments has designed these guitars to disassemble and fit within TSA regulations for carry on items! The removable neck system makes it a great option for on-the-go playing. In spite of its small size, this travel guitar is a serious tonemaker. The solid Spruce top ensures a full tone that keeps on par with your standard size instrument. The Manzer wedge shaped body is comfortable, perfect for playig on the sofa, or by the fire with some friends.

Here we have a Goodall KGCC in curly Koa and Engelmann Spruce. The Koa used for the back and sides on this guitar is a real show stopper; the Engelmann top is silky and tightly grained. Tonally, it’s just as beautiful, the balance and clarity are perfect. You know the bass is there but it doesn’t overpower the lovely singing trebles. The action is smooth, and its hard to think of a better feeling neck than this one.

This guitar is a Jackstraw 000-17 built by Bill Meyers, who was the long time foreman at Buffalo Brothers. He has a real knack for building a truly vintage style guitar but with modern quality and precision. This all mahogany 000 is a gem, powerful, throaty and woody and it plays beautifully. It’s a perfect Blues, Rag or Old Time fingerpicker. We love the clean lines and natural look of the Mahogany. Just beautiful.

This Claxton EM is a charmer! The Brazillian Rosewood is out of this world pretty and adds a richness and color to the voice that make it perfect for altered tunings and standard alike. The German Spruce top makes sure the lows rumble and the highs soar, it’s a joy to hear and play. It’s a breeze to play, a warm summer breeze that is. And that rosette, what a beautiful thing.

Occasionally a guitar comes along with an exceptionally fine voice and the owner of whatever store it ends up in just has to buy it for him or herself. Such was the case for Danny Brevard, the founder of Acoustic Pro Musician, when this 1976 Martin D-35 Shaded Top came through the door. When we acquired Danny’s store upon his retirement, he decided to finally part ways with his long-time companion and placed it in our care to sell on his behalf. This guitar is the embodiment of what we have come to expect from the pairing of East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. It has a balanced voice with great projection that will cut nicely through in a group playing session. It is easy to see why Danny kept this one for himself for so long!

Before we made this guitar available for sale, Stephen Kinnaird, a certified Martin repairman, gave it a beautiful neck reset and full setup. The bridge, saddle, nut, finish and frets are all original. Danny replaced the pickguard (the original is still in the case) with a TorTis® pickguard and also installed upgraded Gotoh Gold open-backed tuners. The guitar is fabulous and the price is right. Original “Blue” Martin case included!

Chris sent this lovely guitar to us and it has been used in his shop only. We call it an Ensor Concert demo, but it’s like new and mint. The Claro Walnut and Engelmann Spruce are both of exceptional quality. This instrument has a strong, woody punch and growl like that of Mahogany that sets it apart from most other Walnut guitars. Its voice is a full bouquet of tone, strumming like a top tier workhorse guitar and yet it takes easily to fingerstyle with plenty of focus, clarity and a nice complex overtone quality. If you’re looking for a lovely, woody tone then this one is priced right and in mint condition. Come try it out today!

Chris Ensor is showing great promise with instruments like this one! The Cocobolo Rosewood and Adirondack (Red) Spruce selected for this Auditorium model are truly presentation grade quality and the fit and finish are spot-on. And with this kind of action and setup you could say it almost plays itself! The tone is enticing, with powerful bass that lets the mids and high through with clarity and focus. It has a complex “sparkle” and wonderful sustain. The bell-like quality of the Cocobolo is equally matched to the punch and drive of the Adirondack top, making for a great all around instrument that can handle almost any territory.

We have had so much fun with this Emerald Chimaera Double Neck guitar-s. We’ve used capos, cut capos, drop D capos on either neck, different alternate tunings on either neck, one standard and one alternate, one high-strung (Nashville Tuning) and one regular. You name it and this guitar can do it. It takes a little getting used to holding and playing it but after about 15-30 minutes you feel at home. The electronics are phenomenal and the fit and finish are what you would expect in a custom handmade guitar. It’s superior quality in a price anyone can afford. And did I mention that is really a conversation starter? We would highly recommend this instrument to all Guitar Connoisseurs. This one is a beautiful work of modern art.

Did you know that Clarence White adored Roy’s guitars! You can search pictures and see Clarence with his Roy Noble and it was the guitar of choice for most recordings and many shows. If you play one like this one, you will know why. The volume and clarity are off the charts. The Magic used in bracing the Cedar top and thicknessing creates a top that doesn’t break up no matter what you throw at it. The tonal palate is lush with sustain and a hint of traditional dryness combined with the wood tone of the cedar and bell tone of the Cocobolo.I think anyone would be happy with this guitar whether they use fingers or a plectrum. It’s fat and full with a thick plectrum and articulate and lyrical with any fingerstyle melody. Alternate and drop tunings are spectacular. This is truly a one of a kind with all the trimmings.

Here we have a new classical by Matt Young. Matt has spent the last several years working for Gil Carnal in his California shop. This one is made with California Cypress and German Spruce and is a Loud classical – playing it in the showroom made all of the other guitars vibrate in return. Matt has built this one with an elevated fingerboard extension and lattice bracing, which lends a harp like quality to the tone. The double sound port puts the player right in the sound mix, and makes it a true joy to listen to and play.

This Leo Buendia Jumbo in East Indian Rosewood and Sitka spruce is phenomenal! The Sitka top is an incredible, 200-year-old set with insanely tight grain across its length. Leo was a Somogyi apprentice, and the tonal heritage is apparent. The whole sound pallet is full and lush from string to string each note is a pleasure to hear, it must be experienced, not just heard. Ethereal, mesmerizing, magical, all of these words don’t do this guitars justice. Hours spent playing this Buendia will just fly by, it is that engrossing. The craftsmanship is as good as we have seen just about anywhere. This is a guitar more than one person in this shop would love to keep for themselves!

James Goodall worked closely with this guitar’s original owner to build the best “perfectly voiced” fingerstyle guitar he possibly could. The attention he gave this instrument is evident in every detail, from the drop dead gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood sides and back, to the beautifully fine-grained Western Red Cedar top, to the contrasting extra-curly maple binding. Although it was built for a fingerstylist, this one also offers strummers and single line players plenty of shimmer and sustain as well.

Even the bridge is camouflaged! We have several of these Emerald X7-OS carbon fiber guitars in stock now! All have b-band electronics with built-in tuner. Comes with a great camo gig bag. These guitars have a full 24″ scale length so it feels very normal to go between this guitar and your “regular” 25.5″ scale length guitars. Carbon fiber and ready for anything! Great for stage!!!

If you want a one-of-a-kind bass, look no further! This is the hand-carved bass by Alistair Hay, owner of Emerald Guitars. It’s fantastic to view and twice as much fun to play. Everything about this instrument oozes custom. But don’t hand it on the wall. This beauty breathes fire and needs air! Take it to the stage. I think you will be very impressed. TThis is one of a series of 10 Miotas Dragon basses by Alister.

Kent Everett has a superior understanding of the tonal palette required by the accomplished guitarist. The Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce pair well on this instrument, making it loud and responsive with excellent gusto not seen in many guitars. The voice is full and rich, with complex overtones and sustain that will suit many playing styles. It is truly a guitar that can do anything, and the custom close-able sound port really helps put the player right inside the mix. Playability is a must on guitars of this caliber, and Kent has this one playing like butter even all the way up past the smooth venetian cutaway. Kent’s instruments are highly sought after and new ones like this rarely become available, so don’t wait to grab this one up!

Before you even pick up this Saddle Pal by Chris Jenkins (Lame Horse Guitars), you know you’re going to be in for a treat. There is more tone, volume, and artwork packed into this little guitar than just about any other we have had in the shop. While this guitar’s unique aesthetic will make you want to try it out, its voice is what will keep you playing it again and again. Made of mindboggling Flamed Myrtle and Engelmann Spruce, this tiny guitar packs pounding bass, focused mids and crystalline trebles all into one stunning package. And the off center soundhole ensures that you are getting the full voice of the guitar every time you sit down to play.

Double Top guitars are a fascinating breed of instrument that involves sandwiching a nomex honeycomb between two veneer thin pieces of wood for a top that is lighter, stronger, and more consistent. The Adirondack (Red) Spruce Double Top on this Dunwell Minstrel is so lightweight and strong that it has a tight readiness about its voice. Thanks to the Indian Rosewood back and sides, the bass is quick, precise and distinct, while retaining power and sustain. The mids have great drive and an almost Mahogany like pop, while the uncluttered trebles make this one an ideal candidate for Blues and Ragtime pieces.

Here we have a unique Dunwell Slope D in “The Tree” Mahogany and Sitka Spruce. This is a body shape that lends all the power and drive of a dreadnought to a fantastic fingerstyle setup. Quick and responsive, this guitar is capable of a host of different playing styles and has excellent headroom for playing in a mix. The quilt in this Mahogany is deep and three dimensional, and the abalone appointments really add some “pop” to the visuals. A great looking, easy talking, smooth playing instrument. What’s more to want?

Tom Doerr is a luthier who builds a guitar that is equal parts tone maker and eye catcher. So when you see how phenomenal this guitar looks, you know that it has a voice that could bring a tear to your eye. This Trinity model combines the age old pairing of Mahogany and Adirondack (Red) Spruce to make for a voice that is sweet and fat, yet offers a deep and gritty bark when driven hard. It handles drop tunings like a pro, even gaining in richness and fulness when downtuned a bit. Playability is easy and fun, ready for anything you throw its way. Come check it out! This is one you won’t soon forget…

Alan Dunwell is a luthier with a large amount of experience in working with double top instruments. This one, his Minstrel model, makes use of a nomex core slipped between two matching layers of Adirondack (Red) Spruce, paired with a well quartered set of Walnut back and sides to great effect. The Red Spruce double top supplies the power and the Walnut supplies the woody, textured voice, with a bass and mid focus. It makes for a great fingerstyle player, but takes nicely to a pick, with ample headroom and that big, bad bass!
