Here we have a stunning OM in Madagascar Rosewood and Adirondack (Red) Spruce from Fujii Guitars. This is our idea of a well thought out guitar, the lines are clean and elegant, every motif executed to perfection. The rosette on this guitar is breathtaking, it is rare to see so delicate of a design on a steel string guitar, we would usually equate such a thing to a classical, it works wonderfully here. Apart from being thoroughly enjoyable eye candy, this OM keeps pace in the tone department. This is a modern fingerstyle guitar through and through, the bass is round and full while the trebles are fat and melodic, accompanied by a wonderful punch in the mids. We have enjoyed this guitar to the extreme, every one here at DG has oohed and ahhed over this one, it is Incredible.

Fylde Guitars are among England’s finest offerings to the instrument world: today’s 2015 Falstaff has all the bass and projection to make that offering a rather loud one. With a fine-grained Indian Rosewood three-piece back and sides and Engelmann Spruce top, this guitar has a complexity of tone well-suited to both flatpicking and fingerstyle players, and is finished with a glass-smooth neck profile that is effortless to play. The multicolored marquetry found in the trim and rosette are tasteful and well-executed, and help accentuate the grain patterns across the three sections of Indian Rosewood which span the back. With immaculate attention to detail, this guitar is both powerful and delicate, and one of the most responsive instruments we’ve ever had. This 00 from Julian Gaffney is small but mighty. With the energy of a much larger instrument, and the comfort of a much smaller one; this is liable to leave your jaw hanging open. Julian has gone the whole nine yards in his training, starting at Bryan Galloup‘s school, then with Rudy’s Music and later working with Roger Sadowski, before apprenticing with fingerstyle godfather Ervin Somogyi for several years. The pedigree is strong, and his instruments are the sweet fruits of all those years. What a sweet fruit this guitar is, gorgeous Cocobolo back and sides, with a European Spruce top– Dyed burl appointments throughout, astounding inlay work covering the entire body. Such exquisite detail from the burled endgraft, meticulously carved bridge to the perfectly beveled headstock. In one word this guitar is MAGIC.

It is a delight to have this incredibly articulate and expressive OM from Julian Gaffney in the shop today. Julian built this guitar well apprenticing with Ervin Somogyi in 2016, and picked out a dramatic set of Madagascar Rosewood for the back and sides that pairs perfectly with Engelmann Spruce on top, plus segmented rosette, carved bridge, and florentine cutaway. The voice is huge and expansive, especially considering its slender OM proportions; this Gaffney has opened up handsomely since 2016.

This is an extraordinary guitar that we picked up from Julian Gaffney at this years Wodstock guitar show. Julian is a current apprentice in the Somogyi shop, so we can tell you straight out of the gate that Julian has the chops and really understands how to build an exceptional guitar. This is an OM model in East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. We are always impressed by the quality builders and guitars that comes out of the Somogyi apprenticeship, Julian has done great work here. There is Somogyi vibe that we love, with plenty of Julians own taste thrown in the mix, this is a beautiful piece of art to look at and to hold. The real star here of this guitar is the tone, it has the big sonorous bass that the Somogyi school is known for, with shimmering and round trebles. This is a guitar that you will have no problem getting lost in, as a matter of fact we dare you not to.

In 2023 the Dream Guitars team attended the 2023 Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase. There were so many excellent guitars present it proved to be quite difficult to keep track of it all. However a few guitars stood out. We are incredibly fortunate to have brought back with us a few of them, and this 00 from Julian Gaffney was at the top of our list. Lucky Strike Redwood, and Palo Escrito are the ingredients for this dynamic powerhouse of a guitar. As you will hear and see for yourself this instrument is an absolute masterpiece. For it to be a smaller sized instrument the sound and affect it has on player and listener alike is truly staggering. This guitar sold before we even listed it. Originally presented to the winner of the 2003 Merlefest guitar picking contest, we are happy to now offer this fine Gallagher Dreadnought to you. We have one of Gallagher‘s more popular models on our hands here, their Doc Watson Edition, complete with Mahogany back and sides and Sitka Spruce top.
Lots of bark to this bad boy, and a meaty midrange that absolutely sings when played with an aggressive attack. Definitely a guitar for flatpickers, this is a Dreadnought which will project a complex tone colored by great low-end depth with the best of them. Furthermore, this guitar straddles the line between the traditional—with its herringbone trim and tortoise-style pickguard—and the modern—with its Florentine cutaway and asymmetrical headstock.
This guitar comes with a TKL hardshell case.

This is the most beautiful Gallagher we’ve seen to date. It’s crafted from a very rare set of Brazilian Rosewood from Mike Longwood’s (of Martin Guitars) personal collection and it is first rate, the kind builders lust over. It’s paired with a very silky Sitka top for an angelic voice that is warm and complete. The Dogwood inlay is stunning and accompanied by Maple bindings on the body, neck and head as well as an abalone top border, bridge inlays and very rare abalone herringbone backstrip.
