2016 Beauregard OMC, Brazilian Rosewood/Sitka Spruce
Mario Beauregard is renowned as one of the greatest modern luthiers, and this guitar is a shining example of why. When legends like Antoine Dufour and Calum Graham use your instruments, there can hardly be a better testament or endorsement of the quality of your work. Equipped with a K&K Trinity pickup system, this instrument is ready for any application. With its short scale and wide string spacing, this guitar is a modern player’s dream. The back and sides feature some of the finest Brazilian rosewood we’ve ever seen, paired with European spruce on top, showcasing epic medullary rays. It also includes a segmented burl and abalone rosette, and a Venetian cutaway. This is the crème de la crème.

Brand New Beauregard MB, Bigleaf Maple/Spruce
A smooth operator from tuners to tail. This brand new MB model from Mario Beauregard is our first new build in a while, and it’s so good to be working together! The MB is a curvaceous, effortless, gorgeous approach to modern electric guitarbuilding, from the über curved sides to the carved Maple back and Spruce top, minimalist F holes, and Duneland Labs humbucker. Gold EVO frets ensure the setup will be smooth and clear for a long time to come; weighing under six pounds, you hardly tell it’s there. The back and sdies are carved from solid master grade Bigleaf Maple, and blends perfectly with the solid Spruce top and Maple neck thanks to a light amber honeyed finish. The pickup features a custom hammered cover that adds excitement to the svelte aesthetics, here mated with an Ebony pickguard/finger rest with included volume and tone knobs underneath.

2014 Bourgeois OM Custom, Brazilian Rosewood/AT Adirondack Spruce
Dana Bourgeois and his team pulled out gorgeous tonewoods for this OM Custom. Dramatically figured Brazilian Rosewood over Adirondack Spruce torrefied to perfection with Dana’s Aged Tone process. The finish is also completed to Dana’s AT specs plus hot hide glue construction throughout, making this 2014 OM Custom a lively and opened up powerhouse right out of the gate. Koa bindings and Waverly tuners complete the package. This Bourgeois has a balanced voice from treble to bass, with an added clarity and presence to the plain strings that really cuts through a mix. The setup is easy peasy and effortless, and the saddle string spacing is a comfortable 2 5/16” for a touch extra room for right hand fingerpicking.

The Bourgeois team decided to go all in for this 2008 Winter NAMM special Country Boy Deluxe with Tree Mahogany back and sdies, Adirondack Spruce top, and an explosively powerful voice. Excellent note separation and clarity, with a top end that’s crisp to cut through the mix, and an energetic midrange and bottom end to fill it out. Premium condition, ready for more action, number eight of only eight.

John Slobod, you slay us. This 2024 000-28 is such an incredible piece, and it’s practically brand new. Not only is the Brazilian Rosewood gorgeously figured and sultry dark, butit pairs handsomely with a creamy German Spruce top and Rosewood bindings. Fit and finish is flawless throughout, and the voice is pianistic, especially for a small-bodied guitar. 12 frets to the body with a 25.4″ scale length seems to strike the perfect balance of crisp frontend and warm overtones. Gold EVO frets and a pyramid bridge are the cherry on top. Comes in an Ameritage case.

Brand New De Wit Modified Dreadnought, Narra/Bearclaw German Spruce
Our first guitar from Gjis De Wit packs a punch. His Modified Dreadnought body, here rendered with florentine cutaway and angled bindings, plays great and has a voice equal parts power and articulation. It’s an excellent choice for fingerstyle play, or strumming when you need chords to remain crisp and clear. The multiscale setup is 26-25” with a unique fanning that makes the first position feel like a standard fretboard. Back and sides are gorgeously figured Narra, paired with Bearclaw German Spruce on top. The neck is actually Padauk, but Gjis has veneered its length in Ebony—ditto for the Spanish Cedar bridge—which creates a great contrast to the Narra/Spruce color scheme. De Wit painstakingly inlaid the headstock, heel, and bindings with a geometric motif, and installed premium Alessi tuners for added class. Additionally, the veneered bridge features individual phosphor bronze saddles for each string. 2024 Gaffney 00, Cocobolo/Swiss Spruce
A brand spanking new 00 from the one and only Julian Gaffney. Julian’s guitars have always been showstoppers here at the shop. His meticulous attention to detail and artistry is undeniable. The use of dyed burl as inlay material really sets Julian apart from other modern luthiers. Dramatic Cocobolo for the back and sides, and Swiss Spruce on top. This instrument has a robust sound and feel to it, with wide specs for the nut to allow for the most optimal left-hand access to all the pitches one could create with this creature. Brazilian Rosewood for the bridge and bridge pins.
Once again, this is an area in which Julian Gaffney shines. In our world, the headstock profile and bridge design are quite literally a builder’s calling cards. Here, Julian shows he is among the most unique and easily distinguished in the world of modern lutherie. It doesn’t stop with aesthetics. Most new guitars, quite frankly, sound new—they haven’t existed out in the world enough to be seasoned and they need breaking in. This beast, however, does not. Out of the case, this instrument sings. Full-bodied sound, significantly outpacing its size in volume. This guitar is a complete experience for both player and listener alike.

2004 Goodall Traditional 000, AAA East Indian Rosewood/Master Grade Adirondack Spruce
Master-grade Adirondack Spruce and East Indian Rosewood are the ingredients for this 2004 Goodall TR000. A 1 25/32″ nut width makes this an excellent fingerstyle guitar, but it’s also suited for a wide variety of playing styles. An L.R. Baggs Element pickup is installed, so it’s ready for the stage as well. Features include a slothead and herringbone trim.

2018 BC Kingston 17″ Archtop, European Curly Maple/Haida Gwaii Sitka Spruce
We’re excited for the chance to offer you a dynamite custom archtop from the venerable Brian Kingston of Prince Edward Island, Canada. AAA European Curly Maple back and sides paired with a hand carved Haida Gwaii Sitka Spruce top (bearing gorgeous and rare flamed figuring), bound F holes, and an exquisite sunburst in ambers, yellows, and browns across both neck and body. A generous 17 inches across the lower bout with a play weight of six pounds, this Kingston feels solid in hand, with a glossy neck profile and upper bout soundport to boot. A custom Seymour Duncan pickup with volume and tone knobs under the pickguard carries this beauty faithfully into amplified territory, but it’s equally at home as an acoustic archtop with a crisp treble definition and articulate midrange. Brian built this one in 2018 for the shows, and we’re proud to offer it now as a new instrument with a little age to liven up the voice.

2020 Klein 396L, Indian Rosewood/Engelmann Spruce
Steve Klein and Steve Kauffman continue to push the envelope, and after so many years they’re still finding new ways to do so. This 2020 396L is their smaller body they’ve been building for years, and with the L designation they slimmed the sides here for a more intimately proportioned Klein. The tone has an added dose of energy and quickness as a result, among other things. Indian Rosewood back and sides are paired with Engelmann Spruce on top, a light sunburst to boot, and their latest iteration of the side access panel—this time with magnets, it hinges at the center when pressed from the treble side, granting you instant access to the interior for string changes (note the string through bridge here), pickup modification, the works. All wrapped up in a custom Ameritage case that protects well and looks good while it’s at it.

2015 Kraut 00, Birdseye Maple/Italian Spruce
Velvet to our ears. This 2015 Kraut 00 is stunning, a testament to modern lutherie and small bodied guitars with big bodied tone. Figured Birdseye Maple back and sides, Italian Spruce on top, and this one features Ray’s elevated fingerboard, which you’ll see actually goes through the top. In excellent condition, this Kraut has sweet, warm trebles that cut right through the mix, and pairs handsomely with a lively, balanced bass response. It’s an excellent fingerstyle instrument, hands down. Alessi tuners, Ebony bindings, and a Hoffee flight case round out the package. We love Ray’s geometric eye when it comes to his rosettes, and the headstock cap here is no exception, perfectly executed.

Brand New Laskin Klimt, Mun Ebony/Adirondack Spruce
Every guitar that comes from Grit Laskin is truly a work of art, and this is an ultimate example of that trend. Dedicated to the work of Gustav Klimt, it features “The Woman in Gold” (Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I) on the fingerboard. Grit Laskin flawlessly recreates the motif of this painting onto the fingerboard, using real gold in the inlay, true to Klimt’s style. The headplate of this Grand Auditorium guitar also features a recreation of “The Kiss.” Truly an exceptional work of art, this guitar, in classic Laskin fashion, could live in a gallery but also has a place in the studio. Laskin’s legendary arm and rib bevels outline the curves of this instrument, along with a sound port and a mosaic-style rosette, signifying a Grit Laskin masterpiece. This instrument has an Adirondack Spruce soundboard and Mun Ebony for the back and sides. The level of artistic contrast on this instrument is on full display with the back and sides, making it as socially enrapturing as it is visually.
