2006 Petros Dream Series FS Brazilian/German
We are very proud of our Dream Series instruments. They are truly special among modern guitars. This Petros Guitars FS (Fingerstyle) Dream Series is adorned with rare Amboyna Burl for the rosette, truss cover and handmade tuner buttons. In addition the entire guitars is bound in Applewood for an elegant contrast against the Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood and master grade Italian Spruce top. What’s most impressive though is the tone. The Petros voice is open and rich and with these premiere woods it has added depth and detail.

2003 Petros Applecreek GC East Indian/Engelmann
Bruce Petros has got the corner on the market for smaller-bodied guitars, and there’s a pretty good reason why: he’s absolutely excellent at consistently voicing smaller guitars to sound as lush and full as their larger-bodied brethren. Observe the 2003 Petros Applecreek GC we have here. An umber set of Indian Rosewood back and sides and Engelmann Spruce top with Cherry bindings exhude a tonality that is darkly complex and articulate. Each string rings clear as a bell, well-balanced and rich. The smaller body is a relief to play if you’re used to wrapping your arms around a bigger guitar, and, combined with the smaller neck profile, make the instrument immensely easy to play. The low end is strong and clear, and the trebles will ring, and ring, and then keep ringing. Fingerstylists, this instrument is calling to you!

2009 Petros Tunnel 13 Claro Walnut/Redwood
You’ve simply got to see and hear this one! And you should call now, because she won’t be here long. This is Bruce Petros at the top of his game, having fun with a few different woods on one instrument. The Flamed Walnut alone would be worth the price of admission, but add a Redwood top and Butternut neck and away we go. The sound is big, warm, and toasty without losing any of the crispness you want in the highs. And you can play this baby as hard as you want and she won’t fret out or get floppy. Fingerstyle, strumming, single lines—whatever—this guitar is why we love this business. Here is the full story from the Petros Website: Southern Pacific Railroad’s Siskiyou Summit Tunnel 13 was built in the 1880’s using virgin Redwood timbers harvested in Southwestern Oregon. These timbers witnessed the October 11, 1923 hold up of the SP Train 13 Gold Special, pulling 13 cars, by the DeAutremont brothers. Four men were killed in the robbery attempt. When these magnificent Redwood timbers were salvaged from this historic tunnel after a fire in 2004, Petros Guitars managed to acquire some of the nicer sections. When these diamonds in the rough were opened up, it was discovered to be exceptional, master-grade tone wood, air dried in this tunnel for more than 120 years. Paired with light weight, figured Claro Walnut from Oregon and a light weight Butternut neck from Wisconsin, this guitar is light as a feather (3 pounds, 14 ounces) with the resonance of a 120 year old guitar. After a century of silence, Petros Tunnel 13 Redwood guitars are giving voice to the remarkable Redwood of Tunnel 13.

2011 Petros Tunnel 13 Claro Walnut/Redwood
The Tunnel 13 Redwood guitars by Bruce Petros have been some of our consistent favorites here at the shop. This particular instrument is one that has a strong, yet supple voice, one that takes effortlessly to intricate and sustaining fingerstyle pieces and retains excellent note separation between the strings. This pianistic voice is the result of Bruce’s masterful building style using some of the finest Salvaged Redwood available on the planet in combination with its soulmate of a tonewood – Claro Walnut – back and sides. These two woods really do seem to make consistently rich, full sounding instruments, but it is Bruce’s abilities, honed by decades of practice, that give this one its refined, bell-like clarity. This is the only 12 fret cutaway version of the Tunnel 13 that we have ever heard of and it honestly is the best sounding one we’ve encountered to date. Gorgeous appointments like the carved Pearwood buttons and inlay and upgraded Abalone top trim make this a rare guitar that will have heads turning no matter where you take it. A five-star look, feel, play, history and sound.

2010 Petros Tunnel 13 Grand Concert #17 Walnut – Claro/Redwood – Tunnel 13
When it comes to fingerstyle guitar, this Tunnel 13 Grand Concert by Bruce Petros is a standalone instrument. The beautifully quartered Redwood top was originally harvested over 130 years ago and has been air drying and aging ever since. When paired with the rippling Claro Walnut back and sides, the Redwood top plays warm and sweet, crisp and clear. 2007 Petros Crossover Bolivian/Engelmann
Bruce and Matt Petros designed their crossover model to appeal to steel string players wanting to explore nylon and it also appeals to nylon players who prefer the narrower neck profile. This beautiful hybrid guitar is crafted from Bolivian rosewood which tonally pairs wonderfully with the warmth of the Engelmann spruce top. Appointments include an Amboyna Burl rosette and matching tuner buttons. There is also a cutaway to allow access all the way up the neck. The neck profile is slender with dimensions of 1 3/4″ or 45 mm and the Petros shallow depth.There is also a Fishman pickup for performance. This is a guitar with lots of appeal.

2005 Petros Harvest GC Claro Walnut/Cedar
Bruce Petros is known for creating very special instruments that are both an expression of the guitar as art and a musical instrument. In his Harvest design he pairs Claro Walnut and Chocolate Cedar for a voice that is powerful, airy and sounds like a 50 yr. old, played in guitar. The Harvest appointments include a custom Wheat rosette, Boxwood trim and bridge and a custom inlay on the fingerboard. All in natural woods which makes it elegant. Like all Petros guitars this one plays like butter, with their slim, fast neck profile. The Petros Harvest is something special and different in the world of guitars today.

Here’s a Petros FS (Fingerstyle) in Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. Also featuring a cutaway for easy access to the end of the fingerboard. Bruce Petros’ FS model is a 00 size guitar with a full, airy, modern fingerstyle voice that is great for many style of music. The Sitka Spruce top here is quite a nice one with lots of medullary rays and tight grain. Like all Petros, this one is extremely easy to play and the slim Petros neck profile is always a favorite.

The Petros FS, or Fingerstyle, model is a 00 size guitar designed to be responsive to fingerstyle play. It’s fresh, modern lines are beautiful but it’s the bracing and bridgeplate design that really capture the string energy and make it a joy to play with flesh or nail. This Petros FS, in Ebony and Adirondack Red Spruce, is clear, bright and vibrant. This is the Applecreek series featuring Abalone trim. 2007 Petros Grand Concert Brazilian/Adirondack
Here we have a top-of-the-line Petros GC in rich, dark Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Red Spruce. It also is adorned with select blue Paua Abalone for the top trim and the rosette. Boxwood bindings from head to toe add beautiful contrast in a very natural way. Now for the good stuff, this one sings… The trebles are full of life, lush and rich. The bass is robust and sturdy with a smooth, round attack. All in all this is a great Petros with the finest woods.
