New Thomas Rodriguez Concert Brazilian/Cedar
Here at Dream Guitars we love guitars with a history of their own, and history is exactly what you’ll find in this brand new Thomas Rodriguez concert. This guitar pulls you in with the allure of a beautiful split-billet Cedar top and its striking three-piece Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (The rosewood being fifty plus year old, from the very same batch as his 100th guitar). The neck is Honduras mahogany from the early 60’s, purchased from an estate, and the nut, saddle, side dots, and tie block are all of fossilized walrus ivory. Tom’s signature asymmetrical lattice bracing gives the hand-split Cedar top’s voice a round, open clarity, allowing every note to be heard distinctly from those surrounding it. The boisterous bass and sweet trebles balance fantastically and we’re excited to offer this guitar we’re sure you’ll play and enjoy for many years to come.

SOLD! NOT FOR SALE, but available for demo in the shop: This beauty is the newest creation by Jordan McConnell. A semi-hollow electric guitar featuring a body of Brazilian Rosewood and Salvaged Sitka Spruce. This McConnell is the first of its kind and soon Dream Guitars owner Paul Heumiller saw and played it, he bought it outright – sorry! There is good news, though: Jordan plans to build six to eight such guitars each year, offering them exclusively through Dream Guitars in the US. Jordan’s elegant venetian-style cutaway, ribrest bevel and smooth arm bevel make playing a breeze, whether sitting or standing.
A beautifully toned finish, shimmering black pearl Graf tuners, and choice wood selection and a Gold Bigsby make this a visually exquisite piece. Now add to that the custom Bare Knuckle pickups and pots and you’ve got an instrument that sounds as good as it looks. Look forward to these in the future! Call us to reserve your McConnell, 828 658-9795.

Here we have a terrific Clark concert classical in Curly Maple and Cedar. Jeremy Clark studied for several years under renowned guitar builder, Sergei De Jonge, before setting up his own workshop in Montreal, Quebec. Powerful projection, clear note distinction, and string balance are hallmarks of Jeremy’s work, and this beauty has those attributes in spades. Jeremy also embraces technology in his instruments — an elevated fingerboard and soundport are modern techniques he’s used here aimed at getting the absolute maximum tonal response from the instrument.

Here we have a fine example of Jeff Traugott‘s large-bodied BK model in Brazilian Rosewood and European Spruce. This beauty is customized with a long, 27″ scale length and a fifteenth-fret body join, which places the bridge in an ideal location on the top, and provides the guitar body with maximum air excursion, and hence, terrific volume and power. This configuration gives the player tons of flexibility in tuning and string choice — it can be used either in standard tuning, alternate tunings (DADGAD for example), or even as a baritone tuned C to c for example. And as with all Traugott guitars, the tone is heavenly, with all the crisp, articulate bass and shimmering highs one expects from the workshop of Jeff Traugott.

Franklin Guitars, built by Nick Kukich, are very highly regarded. They only come up for resale occasionally and this one is a gem. Here we have a Jumbo from 2007 in premium Brazilian Rosewood and Old Master Grade German Spruce built from the ground up for tone. The Brazilian is perfectly well-quartered again for ultimate tone. Nick told us the German Spruce is very old and comes from the stash of famed maker Jeffery Elliott. The Jumbo body is very alive and makes this a very fun guitar to play. You get a lot of output with very little effort, and you can also conjure up some serious volume when you wish. The Venetian cutaway combined with a square heel make playing this guitar very comfortable in the higher registers.

Leo Posch builds excellent guitars in the tradition of the great mid-century Gibsons and pre-war Martins, and this slope-shouldered Dreadnought exemplifies his dedication to the great tone embodied in those classic instruments. The Adirondack Spruce used here is an essential ingredient in achieving that tone, and the Hormigo Leo uses for back and sides imparts a flavor somewhere between Mahogany and Rosewood. The result is all the classic tone and playability of a pre-war Dread, with a slightly modern twist. The twelve-fret design places the bridge further back in the lower bout, sweetening the bass response and providing greater volume.
