The 50 series Lowden Guitars is their new high-end custom offering. This beautiful O sized guitar features Quilted Honduras Mahogany topped with rare ‘Lucky Strike’ Redwood. Together with George’s Dolphin Bracing these woods make for a glorious tone, a bit warmer than the average Lowden and still with wonderful brilliant sizzle on top. This is a powerful guitar that seems wide awake even though it’s like new. The custom appointments include a Tasmanian Blackwood Rosette, Cocobolo & Myrtlewood purflings, Snakewood bindings on the fingerboard and headstock, Gold Gotoh Tuners and leaf fret markers. Definitely a special Lowden guitar.

There’s nothing quite like a big body Lowden guitar giving it’s all. This one is boisterous and energetic, it’s Brazilian Rosewood back & sides blending perfectly with the European Spruce top for a sophisticated, yet playful tone. The trademark Lowden brilliance and clarity are here in spades. This one loves to be strummed or fingerpicked and the playability is outstanding as is the condition.

Here we custom ordered a Cocobolo and Sitka Spruce combination for power and punch. Lowdens are always strong, but this one has a little extra kick. The Cocobolo has a warm midrange that blends nicely with the Sitka overtones as well. This one is very pretty.

The smaller S body size from Lowden is really wonderful. It’s a beautiful intimate sound that boasts good volume and power thanks to the deeper body. The articulation is marvelous and the comfort is welcome. We ordered this one in Cocobolo and Cedar, one of our favorite tonal combinations from George and the gang.

Walnut guitars from George Lowden are famous for their wonderful woody nature and punchy voice. Paired here with Redwood you get a warm and round quality as well. Just a hint of more mellowness beneath the Lowden brilliance and power. The Redwood top is superb with beautiful, straight grain. This one is in perfect condition, not a mark.

The combination of Cocobolo Rosewood and Cedar results in a guitar that is at once responsive and punchy but also full and rich. Cocobolo is regarded as one of the premiere rosewoods in use today. The cutaway F model is by far our most requested Lowden configuration and for good reason it’s extremely versatile and easy to hold for hours and hours.

Here’s a rare one for you Lowden fans. The L model is very similar to today’s model O from George Lowden. This wonderfully maintained beauty is from 1988 and has a big, warm Rosewood tone. This is a rare guitar tonally as well, it has bass that will shake your chest yet the high-end sparkles clear and strong. You can play it all on this one.
