2012 Fender Stratocaster Pro Closet Classic
The Closet Classic series recreates those fabled vintage axes found under the bed or at the back of the closet—looking like stepping back in time. This beauty came out of the Fender Custom Shop in 2012 with Swamp Ash body plus Maple neck in a 60s-style C profile, 25.5” scale, and upgraded with Abby Red Hot pickups handwound by Abigail Ybarra. The tone is classic Strat, with some added heat for crispier attack and power. The two-tone sunburst has been finish checked in the Closet Classic style and wrapped ups with a three-ply w/b/w pickguard. And this gorgeous Strat comes delivered in a G&G case with COA!

Heavy relic in Coral Pink! Check out this gorgeous Fender Custom Shop ’62 Strat from Jason Smith if you’re looking for the real relic’d deal. Fender’s Smith built this beauty in 2009 with a custom heavy relic job in mind—and it sports the kind of play wear, exposed Alder, and glossy setup, that we’d expect from a dyed-in-the-wool road warrior. Coral Pink sets off the Maple neck and pickguard perfectly. The pickups are Custom Shop 60 Strat Relics with coffee white relic’d volume and tone knobs.
Here’s a note from Fender about custom shop builder Jason Smith: “Rock music and Fender are part of his DNA. Smith joined the Fender Custom Shop in 1995, and in 2006 completed a five-year apprenticeship under acclaimed Senior Master Builder John English. Among many diverse projects with English, Smith worked on a pair of double-neck Stratocaster guitars for Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo. He has since crafted fine instruments for players and acts including John 5, Michael Landau, Flea, Josh Klinghoffer, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Reggie Hamilton, Linkin Park, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Neon Trees and many others.”

Add to Compare1963 Fender Stratocaster
Here’s a potent brew of elbow grease, vintage tone, and honest play wear. This 1963 Fender Strat has seen some miles, and then some, in its almost 60 years of music-making. The finish appears refinished in the 1970s and now quite worn, and the neck has a lovely combination of velvety finish at the back and worn smoothly down to the wood on the sides. Our repair folks have gone over this one with a fine tooth comb, in the process replacing the frets as well as fabricating a new pickguard from scratch and relic’ing it to perfectly match the Alder body’s play wear and patina.
It plays like vintage, grass-fed butter, with juicy tones to matchOther keywords: fender guitars, leo fender, strat, kluson, solidbody, stratacaster, 3-way

Cruz relic’d the black finish for a well-used but cared-for look that feels right at home with the slightly worn through finish on the Maple neck. The tremolo is currently set up with John’s three spring system, and we have the standard spring system components to include with the G&G case. Weighs in at 7lbs 10oz, this ’61 Strat from 2009 is easy on the hands (ditto for the 1 5/8” nut and 2 1/8” saddle spacing).

Add to Compare2003 Fender Telecaster 62 Tele Custom Alder
Description from Fender’s website: The double-bound alder body and multi-ply pickguard that dressed up the ’62 Telecaster guitar distinguished it from its Butterscotch predecessor. And rosewood, originally introduced for cosmetic reasons because maple was prone to showing wear, quickly grew in popularity with the warmth it added to the classic Telecaster tone. In the spirit of the original, the American Vintage ‘62 Telecaster Custom guitar has a C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard. It also features a pair of ’62 Custom Tele single-coil pickups, a vintage Tele bridge with threaded steel saddles, and the original Tele circuit with three-position switch. Our thoughts: This Ocean Turquoise ’62 Tele is a gorgeous guitar in dead mint condition, don’t miss it!
