High-quality CTS volume and tone potentiometers with ‘bumble bee’ capacitors offer a fundamental electronics package, thus insuring the guitar’s unique tone is captured and delivered with the utmost accuracy and originality. Add to Compare1994 Gibson 1950 CF-100e #26 of 100 Mahogany/Spruce
This is a cool reissue of the first ever acoustic guitar to have an electric pickup back in 1950. This is #26 of 100 limited edition models built by Gibson to commemorate this CF-100e. The small body, made from Mahogany and Spruce, has a spunky sound acoutically and really shines when plugged in. The sunburst is gorgeous and the pickup sounds great and we loved it for Swing, R&B, well… 1950’s music. Don’t miss this rare, limited edition Gibson Guitar.
Add to Compare1999 Gibson SG Les Paul Custom Mahogany, Inverness Green 3 ’57 Humbuckers
Here we have a lovely custom shop Les Paul SG Custom in Inverness Green with 3 ’57 Humbuckers. From Epinions.com: The current incarnation of the Les Paul SG Custom Reissue differs from the original in several important ways. One of the most notable is that the guitar upon which it is based had a slightly larger body, and the manner in which the neck of the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue is joined to the body is more sturdy. Many of the original 1961’s had to have their neck joint repaired over the years for this reason. The neck on the original also had a tendency to whip a bit with hard playing, because of the manner in which it joined the body, and this whipping tendency was also accentuated by the thinness of the neck. Of course, this added to problems in keeping the guitar in tune. These problems have been eliminated in the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue, and the neck is somewhat slightly thicker, has a stronger truss rod, the heel joint where the neck joins the body is more substantial, the neck has a longer tenon. Thus, the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue does not have a tendency to whip or bend like the original, and thus holds its tune significantly better than the original, and it is not prone to the neck joint cracks or breaks that plagued the original.

Here’s an extremely well preserved piece of American musical history. Tell me, who doesn’t just love a sunburst vintage Gibson? Back in the day, “The Big G” really knew what to do with a couple pieces of mahogany and spruce, and this guy is all about that beautiful warm and fat Kalamazoo vibe. If you don’t have one of these hanging on your wall, here’s your chance to bring a little 1963 home for the holidays. Enjoy!
Add to Compare1948-1950 Gibson J-50 Mahogany/Spruce
This was the “natural” version of the popular Gibson J-45. In 1948 they switched from the Gibson script logo to the post-war gold block logo featured on this guitar. In 1950, they started using the upper belly bridge, so this is most likely either a 1948 or 1949 but could be an early 1950 as well. Whatever the year this is a GREAT ONE. Killer tone, that is bold and clear and the setup is excellent. This is one of the best playing Gibsons from this era you’ll find.

We are fortunate to have found one of the 586 SJs made by Gibson in the year 1956. This one comes to us from a local fellow who inherited it from a sickly boy he befriended and taught guitar back in the 1950s. It has primarily been stored detuned for years, brought out from time to time when visitors would use it to play a few tunes. It appears to be all-original with no repairs other than our reseating the bridge. It even has the original chipboard case in perfect condition. The one has that amazing vintage Gibson tone, big warm and woody bass and distinctive chime that only a mahogany Gibson seems to produce. This is the real deal found locally, what a treat.
Add to Compare1998 Gibson Advance Jumbo Indian/Sitka
The Gibson Advanced Jumbo is a classic design among dreadnoughts. This one has been owned by an Asheville area singer-songwriter, Valorie Miller, who played it a lot so it’s got a great broken-in voice that’s alive. The sunburst is gorgeous and while it has a few nicks and dings, it’s also got a lot of mojo and guts. We really like the voice and we’re sure you will also.

From the Gibson website: From its graceful Venetian cutaway to its abalone enhanced inlays, the new Gibson Le Grand is a sight to behold. This distinctive looking guitar will soon be the instrument of choice in jazz circles. Other enhancements include a gold plated, individually fingered jazz tailpiece as well as adjustable bridge with abalone inlaid ebony bridge base. Gibson’s Le Grand guitar utilizes enhanced floating pickup technology which avoids deficiencies found with other floating pickup guitars. To deter feedback problems, Gibson has chosen to mount the pickup to the pickguard instead of the neck of the Le Grand, thereby producing the smooth mellow tone of a floating pickup without feedback problems. Comfort is engineered into this guitar by utilizing a sleek, lightweight peghead design. As a result, the Le Grand proves to be a well-balanced instrument that is both pleasing to look at and exciting to hear!
