2000 Ignacio M. Rozas Concierto 2, Indian Rosewood/Spruce
Before his retirement in the early 2000s, Ignacio M. Rozas was a well-respected Classical Guitar luthier in the Spanish tradition (based, as he was, in Spain), and this 2000 Concierto 2 model proves that in spades. Indian Rosewood back and sides are here combined with a Spruce top for the classic combination of richness and warmth, and our own repair team recently refretted and set up this beauty to pristine playing condition; practically plays itself.
650mm scale, 52mm nut, and 56mm saddle spacing all make for a familiar play feel which is only enhanced by the 17 years’ worth of opening up that this Rozas Concierto 2 has undergone at the hand of its previous owner who purchased it directly from Rozas after meeting with him in his Spanish workshop.

1997 Imai EJ-II Brazilian/Red Cedar
We haven’t had one of Yuichi Imai’s classicals before, but are nonetheless impressed by the depth of tone and somber, warm timbre of the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Red Cedar top. This 1997 EJ-II has had plenty of time to open up, and it has done so beautifully, such that the instrument has a rich, well-balanced tone and excellent sustain. There are sweet overtones in the middle register that harmonize well with the clean, controlled trebles. This guitar is certainly a player’s instrument, meaning that there are some scratches and finish checking from use, and the D tuner button is slightly bent, but functionally this classical is in top form–and you’re hard-pressed to find this degree of craftsmanship and Brazilian Rosewood at such a low price. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case.

2017 Ivanov Snow Parlor, Flamed Maple/Italian Spruce
Dontcho Ivanov does Flamed Maple right! This 2017 Snow Parlor combines a sleek, striking visual aesthetic with an expressive blend of warm bass notes and voluptuous trebles; not to mention Dontcho’s icy smooth setup and spacious 1 13/16″ nut for a play feel that’s easy on the hands.
The Italian Spruce top colors the entire voice with a creamy layer of delicious overtones which fill out the Snow Parlor’s tone–perfect for when you want that enveloping, lush sound. Open tunings are orchestral with this guitar (playing in Open D is really, well, open!). Dontcho’s craftsmanship is incredible with each joint seemingly seamless and an overall snowflake weight to match its name. Brand New Ivanov 00, Koa/Western Red Cedar
Dontcho Ivanov spares no detail with this brand new 00 in Koa and Cedar. Fit and finish is flawless, rendered in high gloss to best show off the flame figuring on the Koa back and sides, as well as the rich Red Cedar top. Lacewood trim sets off those woods perfectly. The 00 body is paired with a 12-fret neck and 25″ scale for sweetness and warmth, with a lively and energetic response. In a word, very fun! And it’s the little things that really set this one apart for us. Dontcho carves his headstock plates with a unique relief, and at the wings of the bridge you’ll find a similar treatment.

Brand New Ivanov Grand Salon OM, Macassar Ebony/Sinker Cedar
This is a custom build we spec’d out with one of our longtime builders and longtime clients, and the result is fantastic! Dontcho Ivanov’s Grand Salon OM is already very lightweight and easy to play, then Dontcho went one step further by adding a manzer wedge and florentine cutaway. Macassar Ebony back and sides pair up with Sinker Cedar on top for a sweet mixture of glassiness and warmth.

Fit and finish is flawless, and this study in white is sharply dressed with tight figure from tuners to tail. Moonspruce top and European Maple body, plus Flamed Maple bindings, as well as neck, as well as bridge—you get the picture. And what a pretty picture it is, for both eyes and ears. Brand New Ivanov OM-C, African Blackwood/Swiss Moonspruce
Our latest client commission for Dontcho Ivanov! A drop dread gorgeous OM with African Blackwood back and sides, Swiss Moonspruce top, and flawless fit and finish throughout. Dontcho’s finish work is superb, hands down, and his sense of line and curve makes for a sensuously proportioned instrument that’s glassy to the touch and effortless to play. Florentine cutaway for added fretboard access; upgraded gold Rodgers tuners; and an elegant, intricate mosaic rosette. We’re more than excited to work with Dontcho; his guitars are a joy every time.

2018 Ivanov Snow Parlor, Euro Flame Maple/Swiss Alpine Moonspruce
When gorgeous woods and Dontcho Ivanov get together, the result is something you won’t want to miss. We just landed a dynamite Snow Parlor from 2018, this time in European Flamed Maple and Swiss Alpine Moonspruce (what a mouthful). This study in pearly whites is incredible: heaps of body presence and depth to this little buddy’s voice, and the bass and lower mids have an extra dose of crunchy Maple crackle that really leaps out of the soundhole. With a 25 inch scale and 12-fret neck, Dontcho manages a top end that’s clear and bright but not brash (the downfall of many a would-be parlor guitar).
Additionally, the neck is European Maple, as is the bridge, fingerboard, bindings, headplate, and truss rod cover. Clearly, Dontcho’s relationship with Maple runs deep. Of course there are also Snakewood knobs on the Waverly tuners and a red-bound crow’s feet rosette which offsets the creamy expanse of Spruce surrounding it. EVO frets? Why not!
Ivanov voiced the top for added note separation and clarity. This Snow Parlor is teeming with energy, but it maintains composure to keep the voice clean and smooth, not harsh. If you’re looking for a Parlor to end all Parlors—this snow comes from up on high.

2018 Ivanov Petit Salon, Ziricote/Swiss Moonspruce
Big voice, small mouth. If you’ve spent any time at all with us, you’ll know we love Dontcho Ivanov’s Snow Parlor guitars. Today we’re excited to offer you a different brand of parlor from Mr. Ivanov, a like-new single O Petit Salon model from 2018. Here dressed up in Ziricote and Swiss Moonspruce, the Petit Salon is a livewire for fingerstyle with its warm, wide, and energetic tone. It weighs in under four pounds, has a 12-fret neck for added warmth, and Dontcho built this beauty with a stadium-shaped soundhole in the upper bout to keep the player keyed in to their tone. Fit and finish are (as always) immaculate; Dontcho really knows how to best showcase the spider veins of Ziricote along the headplate and fretboard, and the Maple neck features stunning flame figure as well.

Brand New Ivanov Snow Parlor 00, European Maple/Swiss Moonspruce
Deliciously smooth from tuner to tail, sings as easy as breathing, wide awake and ready: our latest Ivanov Snow Parlor. This 00 is an incredible instrument, hands down. The trebles have a sweet clarity that makes the notes really pop off the soundboard, and Dontcho Ivanov matches that top end up with a clean and articulate bass and midrange for an all-encompassing, complete sound. This little guitar has a lot of tone packed under its pale hood.
Figured European Maple make up the back and sides, which Dontcho paired with a Swiss Moonspruce top and birdsfoot rosette. Everywhere else is Figured Maple, from headstock to endgraft. 2018 Ivanov Snow Parlor, Flamed Maple & Swiss Alpine Moonspruce
Maple loves company! Especially when it’s more Maple. Dontcho Ivanov’s ever popular Snow Parlor guitars are a study in blazing white, and the latest one to grace our shop comes to us with a Swiss Alpine Moonspruce top and Flamed Maple everywhere else. From the back and sides to the bindings, the neck to the fretboard, the bridge to the headstock, this Ivanov Snow Parlor is practically a Maple tree unto itself. Everywhere you can see Dontcho’s exquisite attention to detail, right down to the purflings on the wings of the bridge. Under the hood, Dontcho doesn’t slouch: this is a loud and powerful guitar by any measure, but especially so for a Parlor. It is a fantastic addition to any guitarist’s collection, but even more than that this Snow Parlor is an excellent choice for just about any mood you happen to find yourself in. And all that wrapped up in with a trim fighting weight of 3lbs 5oz!

2017 Ivanov Grand Salon OM-C, Madagascar/Adirondack Spruce
If it were legal to marry a guitar, we’d put a ring on one the tuner posts and call this brand new Grand Salon OM from Dontcho Ivanov our partner for life. This guitar is simply incredible. Dontcho paired Madagascar Rosewood with black inking with an Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany neck that’s a cross between a C and D shape. Mirror sheen finish throughout, right down to the bridge, with polished pins to match. A mosaic rosette offers a subtle nod to classical guitar aesthetics, but the Florentine cutaway and scalloped nut keep things fresh and exciting.
In a word, this Ivanov is velvet. It plays smooth as cream, with a rich, balanced response and exquisite note definition. We found ourselves losing track of time while playing it; hard to put down. The OM design is supposed to be a workhorse for lots of styles. Dontcho’s take with this Grand Salon is the thoroughbred of the pack.

New Ivanov Manouche Blanche European Maple/Swiss
Light as a feather this 2016 Manouche Blanche may be, but there’s more meat to these strings than you can shake a pick at. Brand new and set up by the man himself, Dontcho Ivanov, this Gypsy Jazz guitar plays effortlessly and can crank up the volume without missing a beat, letting those sparkly trebles ring out! And Maple is the name of the game here, folks: European Maple back, sides, and neck all the way to Canadian Maple for the fingerboard and bindings. A ghost-pale set of Swiss Spruce for the top, Boblen Custom Ivory Case, and Swiss handmade Miller brass tuners–“this is a gorgeous guitar” is an understatement.
There just aren’t too many Gypsy Jazz guitars out there of this calibre; snag this Manouche Blanche soon before it slips away!
