2003 Martin D-50 Deluxe Brazilian Brazilian/Bearclaw Sitka #2 of 50 Ever Made!
To say this guitar is rare is an understatement. This Martin Limited Edition D-50 in Brazilian Rosewood and Bearclaw Sitka Spruce is truly a remarkable achievement. Number 2 of 50, this guitar is as much art object as instrument, but if you dared take it to the Feed ‘n Seed for a pickin party, the voice would hold it’s own against more seasoned instruments. Lush, tight basses are easily coaxed from this beauty, along with well defined mids and trebles with just the right chime and sparkle. But let’s be honest, this show-stopper should be enjoyed in the climate-controlled comfort of a private listening room with excellent lightling, so all the intricate nuances of the abundant inlay can be fully appreciated. The extensive use of abalone, outlined in mother-of-pearl, represents the pinnacle of fine craftsmanship by the team at Pearl Works, under the watchful eye of legendary inlay artist, Larry Seifel, before his untimely passing. The Tree of Life motif is brilliantly executed, flowing gracefully up the fingerboard onto the headstock, while abalone purflings wrap around all edges. Comes with letter of authentication and custom leather-bound case with built-in analog hygrometer.

1937 Martin D-28 Brazilian/Adirondack
Here we have a wonderful prewar 1937 Martin D-28 in Adirondack Spruce and straight-grained, quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood.The owner bought it when he was just 14 yrs old and he’s owned it ever since. He’s now unable to play, as he’s 89 years young, and wants someone else to love and play this fine ’37 Martin. But there’s more to the story, his daughter is a divorced, single mom putting herself through a Masters Degree program and struggling to pay for the last year of her schooling. The sale of this guitar will not only ensure that one of the best old Martins continues to make music, but it will also allow a 89 year old Father to help his daughter and grandchildren have a better life. That’s what we call a win-win in the guitar world.
This 1937 Martin D-28 was sent back to Martin in the 1970s and they re-topped the guitar. We had Master Luthier Bill Tippin go over it so that it sounds amazing and plays like a new guitar. See the condition notes for details. Here’s a chance at one of the rare D-28 from the finest era but priced right do to it’s condition. Could be a great candidate for a re-top project to restore it to 1937 specs!

1975 Martin D-28 Indian/Sitka
Here’s a fine example of of the mainstay of the Martin fleet — a 1975 D-28 in Indian Rosewood and Sitka spruce. Nearly forty years of gentle use has really allowed this guitar time to fully open up and blossom. Trebles has plenty of chime and sparkle while the trademark Martin bottom end packs a whallop that can be heard across a room full of banjo pickers. This guitar is in great shape for it’s considerable age.

2005 Martin D-45 Celtic Knot Brazilian/Adirondack 1 of 36 ever made!
One of 36 Limited Edition Martin D-45 Celtic Knots ever made! This extremely rare and special Martin guitar is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful they ever created. Unique features include the C.F. Martin signature inlaid in the Brazilian Rosewood back in Abalone, custom etched Celtic Knot Tuners, intricate Abalone C.F. Martin headstock inlay with Abalone borders around the lettering, the amazing Celtic Knot fretboard inlays and 45 style Abalone trim on the top, sides and back!

2006 Martin 1833 000-14 Custom Claro Walnut/Italian

This Custom Short Scale Martin OM in Claro Walnut and Italian Spruce has that very quality all about it, from its forward shifted bracing to its custom inlay and 42 style abalone trim. 2012 Martin 00-21 Custom Shop Madagascar/Adirondack
Here is a Martin Custom Shop 00-21 in Madagascar Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce. Commonly referred to as a Madi/Adi, this wood combination is just wonderful, very much like the Brazilian/Adirondack combination of yesteryear. This particular 00-21 Custom has OM sized bass and clear and powerful trebles that make fingerstyle pieces really shine. With Flamed Koa Bindings and Herringbone Rosette, it’s a bit prettier than the typical 21 style Martin as well. Top notch woods make this a truly custom Martin, one you’ll be proud of.

2008 Martin 00-18 Tim O’Brien Signature Edition, #36 of 100 Mahogany/Adirondack
This is a Martin Tim O’Brien Signature Edition 00-18, #36 of 100 made. This wonderful limited run by Martin guitars features an Adirondack top that is supported with scalloped Adirondack braces & tone bars and a maple bridge plate. The thin bracing and the stiffness of the Adirondack spruce produces a clear bell-like tone with volume suitable for both fingerpicking and flatpicking.
The soundhole is adorned with a simple vintage style 18 rosette, however the center ring of black has been replaced by an elegantly thin strip of select abalone pearl . Another unique feature of the 00-18 Tim O’Brien is its 25.4″ scale length, which is typically reserved for Dreadnoughts and Orchestra Models. This feature will add to the power and volume of this specially designed instrument. If you are fond of small body Martins and want one with power and range, this is your Martin.

1934 Martin 000-18 Mahogany/Adirondack
The Grandson of the owner of this 1934 Martin 000-18 brought it to us in all original condition. It needed a little love so we enlisted Master Luthier Bill Tippin to bring it back to it’s glory. Bill truly loves to work on vintage gems, especially ones like this. We were able to keep it completely original but for a new bridge and thin sister plate added to the bridgeplate. See the condition statement for details.
As for the tone, this is a sweetheart! Powerful, dry, throaty, everything you want in a Prewar Mahogany/Adirondack Martin. It’s a featherweight and the notes just fill the room. The setup is perfect and it plays beautifully. Bill carefully rounded the bar fret ends for a great feel. This one has some patina and very cool wear, but it’s solid and ready for another 80+ years of music!

2007 Martin OM-21C Mandolin Brothers Special Indian/Adirondack
This lovely Martin OM-21C Mandolin Brothers Special is from a nice custom series commissioned by Mandolin Brothers, and it’s very cool that they designed a guitar that delivers on tone and playability but doesn’t break the bank. The key feature is a solid Adirondack Spruce top over Indian Rosewood for the body. This particular guitar has both sweetness and punch, and there’s no doubt that she’ll open up beautifully over time. You’ll be very happy with this one for decades to come.

1939 Martin 000-18 Mahogany/Adirondack
Here we have a vintage Martin Guitars 000-18 from 1939. These Mahogany/Adirondack powerhouse guitars are sought after for the strength, clarity and pre-war tone. This one plays great is structurally sound and has some very cool play wear showing it’s life of music. The trebles are strong and sweet and the bass is powerful but snappy. 1999 Martin HD-28 Indian/Sitka Wide Open!
Here is the classic Martin HD-28 dreadnought. This one, crafted in 1999, is better than new in that it is fully open and loud. Just listen to Al’s recording and you can tell this one has some extra mojo. The setup and playability are great. It was upgraded with Fossil Ivory pins as well.
