This is the very first Prototype of the Tippin Crescendo model which Bill Tippin debuted in 2004. The Crescendo is Bill’s 14 fret 000 designed to offer the full power of a 000 but with the extended fingerboard. Bill used all his very best tonewoods on this guitar including a set of very old and dark Brazilian Rosewood with sultry figure, a master grade Italian Spruce top with a hint of aging toner. Tippin also custom made 5 piece perflings from Curly Maple, Rosewood and fine Abalone. There are matching Abalone inlays at the first fret and at the bottom of the top. The fingerboard is bound in Curly Maple and also has a maple perfling. The headstock sports a Deco T inlay to complete the breathtaking appearance. The tone is nothing short of magical, rich, deep and strong. Our own Al Petteway, who has a signature series Crescendo with Bill, just loved this guitar.

For those who love a rosewood OM (and don’t we all?), here’s a fantastic Tippin. OMs are one of the most versatile models out there, offering balance, power and comfort. The word is out on Bill Tippin and he is now building for top players like our own Al Petteway and Paul Heumiller, as well as Peter Calo of Carly Simon’s group. You probably have never seen Birdseye Brazilian so be sure to check this one out. It is a very rare set of Brazilian that is truly birdseye figure. It’s also tight grained and produces a bell-like tone with bass notes like a piano. Bill’s Crescendo design is a slightly oversized 000 but given a full 14 frets so you have no limitations. This is also a wonderfully collectible Tippin, but trust us, you’ll want to play it everyday…

This is a rare custom Tippin 000 12 Fret crafted from breathtaking Quilted African Mahogany and Carpathian Spruce. This is one of the prettiest 000s you’ll ever see. In Bill’s typical fashion he allowed the wood to shine on this one. This combination of woods give a great woody tone with good growl and lots of headroom. Carpathian behaves a lot like Adirondack Spruce. This is a superb guitar for blues, rags and Celtic music but you’ll use it for everything. A great Tippin.

It’s clear that he pulled one his best sets of Brazilian Rosewood and topped it with a rare and beautiful Bearclaw European Spruce from his special stash. The tone is nothing short of majestic, you get cavernous, deep bass response and the trademark Tippin strong trebles. This is a stunning guitar from Bill Tippin with master grade Madagascar Rosewood and Carpathian Spruce. It is bound with the dynamic Snakewood and the top purfling is uniquely crafted from German Marquetry which is also echoed in the back strip. The Snakewood headplate and first fret flame inlay combine with the Brazilian bridge for an elegant, understated beauty. The tone, as the name suggests, is loud and strong.
