1973 Gemza Concert Indian/Spruce
Displaced from Hungary by World War II, Bela Gemza came to the U.S. in the late 1940s and strived to make great, original guitars and lutes from the finest materials in the basement of his modest home. Time has shown that he succeeded.
This wonderful Gemza guitar dates from what many believe was Bela’s “Golden period” of craftsmanship in 1973. It is an especially beautiful instrument thanks to the Indian Rosewood back and sides and Spruce top ornamented with beautiful Maple binding. The playability and tone of this instrument is exquisite. Gemza guitars project beautifully and this one offers a complete tone which has gained authority over time, like a fine aged red wine.

A first for us here at Dream Guitars, this 2020 RL15.5 by Ryan Gerber is decked out in incredible Cocobolo and Moonspruce. The rosette on this instrument is particularly interesting, featuring a uniquely carved Cocobolo ring within Koa and Abalone. It also includes EVO frets, Gotoh tuners, a 25 1/4″ scale length, and a beveled armrest. Tonally, this guitar has a lot to offer, with rich overtones and a saturation of sound unique to this instrument—low mid growls and lush trebles.

Caramel-sweet and firecracker hot, this brand-new 2015 German Agave has got a voice to strike other guitars dumb. Greg German‘s too kind: he’s given us an enormous amount of tone, and some sweet appointments, for a great deal. Complete with a soundport, gold Gotoh 510s, interlocking fretboard inlays and rosette, Venetian Cutaway, the Agave has more options than you can shake a pick at. That said, wait until you actually have the instrument in your hands–the setup is glass-smooth, and the voice is charged and energetic. Trebles which are bright and talkative, a middle register with lots of power that speaks for itself, and a tight, controlled low-end give the Agave a punchy flavor more commonly found in smaller-bodied guitars–but with all the volume and sustain traditionally found in Grand Concerts or Dreadnoughts.

Greg German is making exquisite guitars. This Agave model is proof. The level of detail and beauty is off the charts, yet they remain sublime. The purflings and inlays are all elegant and truly add to the aesthetic of the instrument. But it’s the tonal character we love, clarity and beauty are in every note on the fingerboard. The Bolivian Rosewood(aka Pau Ferro) and Figured Sitka top blend perfectly to produce pure music. The playability is superb and accurate. This is a player’s instrument that is also a gentleman’s guitar.

Greg German has a background as a highly skilled Illustrator, Animator and luthier with Edward Victor Dick. This experience allows him to create and execute details that most Luthiers wouldn’t dare to attempt. This Belladonna, multiscale, steel string is breathtaking in subtle ways. There are extensive inlays on the headstock, fingerboard, soundport and rosette, but all are fine and wooden for an elegant effect. The wild Bolivian Rosewood back and Silky Sitka top give this asymmetrical multiscale a bright, clear tone with just a hint of dark under current. The combination of 25.4 scale on the bass string and the short 24.75 top string offer great intonation, easy and even tension and enhance this guitars ability to handle any tuning you want to use from Standard to low C. What a treat to have this guitar to begin our relationship with Greg German.

From 1984, here’s a Gibson Custom Les Paul dressed in a rich Wine Red finish, with block fret markers and the iconic Gibson Custom headstock inlay. At first glance, it’s everything you’d expect from a classic Les Paul — but look closer, and you’ll find something unexpected: a legendary Kahler tremolo system at the bridge.
Outfitted with a locking nut and fine tuners, this setup lets you dive-bomb and shred like you’re playing a Jackson Dinky, while still enjoying the unmistakable sustain and heft of a true Les Paul Custom.
The tuners are another unique touch — a collaboration between Gibson and Schaller. These speed tuners eliminate the need for a peg winder during string changes, adding a touch of practicality to the performance-minded build.
Whether you’re into classic rock, heavy metal, or anything in between, this guitar delivers. A perfect fit for passionate collectors and shred-heads alike — this one’s calling your name.
