1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Mahogany/Maple
This is some guitar, the first year of the Les Paul! Designed by Ted McCarty and Les Paul, this guitar was the very first of the Les Paul line. Many consider these guitars prototypes since they were never assigned serial numbers. This one has the Gold Top, P-90 pickups and appears to be all original but for the nut. The playability is great and the tone is killer. This is a very rare, vintage Gibson Les Paul offered as part of a collection or individually.

Add to Compare1928 Gibson L-1 Vintage 00 Mahogany/Spruce
The L-1 one is very similar to the L-00 but has a bound back. It’s hard to identify this one but it appears be an L-1 from 1920s. We refurbished it into a great player instrument that is solid and ready for serious playing time. We had master luthier Bill Tippin repair cracks, reset and refret the neck and install Waverly tuners. Now this is a real player with that incredible vintage tone but totally reliable. This guitar is perfect for the blues or rag player looking for the real McCoy without any of the vintage hassles.

Add to Compare1950 Gibson Super 300 Flame Maple/Maple
Just over 200 Super 300s were ever made by Gibson Guitars. The Super 300 is essentially identical to a super 400 but a bit more understated with regard to trim. This beauty from 1950 is in excellent condition and the tone is magical. You can just imagine some of the juke joints it’s been in. The tobacco burst is warm and inviting and the maple back has nice figure as does the tiger striped neck. The neck finish is worn to that perfect feel of a vintage guitar with just enough miles on it. Outstanding…

May he rest in peace, John Gilbert was a force of innovation for Classical guitar construction in the U.S. in the latter part of the 20th Century, and two of his most well-known contributions are both present on this 1995 Concert Classical in Indian Rosewood and Cedar. First, Gilbert created a new style of bridge which employed individual metal saddles for each string, enabling the player or luthier to adjust individual string heights without affecting others. Second, Gilbert pioneered a new kind of tuner for nylon strings which employed a worm gear retainer that allowed each string to have the same feel when tensioning, and to eliminate all backlash while insuring smooth tuning action. Here, both are employed to great effect.
By 1995 John’s son, Bill Gilbert, had taken over the luthier mantle from his father, and we’ve verified with Bill that this Gilbert was built by his own hands. voice has a clear warmth in the middle registers that blends smoothly with both bass and treble strings for an overall richness like a slice of fine New York cheesecake. The setup is similarly smooth and friendly. Wrapped up in a Calton flight case, this Gilbert comes protected for many years to come.

Italian luthier Gioachino Giussani has been working in the classical world for decades, and in that time he has honed his craft to a razor’s edge. This is the first of his work that we’ve seen, and we are soundly impressed by the clarity and power of this 2001 Concert Classical. Dramatically figured Indian Rosewood back and sides with (of course!) an Italian Spruce top featuring a seven fan-braced pattern and doubled back & sides—projection to spare, and trebles that are precise and round, full. Our repair team recently dressed the frets for dinner, so they’re shining like new silver dollars. 650mm scale, 54mm nut, and 60mm saddle spacing.

From the Godin Website: The Multiac nylon SA (synth access) uses the RMC Polydrive system. This system not only produces superb amplified sound, but also produces a hexaphonic output through a 13-pin connector, which provides these guitars with direct access to Roland™ GR-Series synthesizers. The key to the exceptional synth tracking of the Multiac lies not just in the electronics but also in the carefully selected and balanced blend of different wood used in its design. All of the materials used are the result of extensive prototype testing to achieve the best possible combination of plugged-in guitar sound and synth tracking..
