This is an amazing Private Stock PRS Angelus Cutaway. Paul Reed Smith and company made us this one from a gorgeous set of Madagascar Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce. The woods give this Angelus a lot of headroom and power. You can really drive it, but it also has a great response for fingerpicking. This is a versatile Private Stock PRS with the best materials they offer and superb appointments like the Abalone birds and top trim. The PRS neck is to die for as well, plays itself…

The Tom Bills Genesis model features a top with no soundhole. Instead there is a large side soundport. This design allows for an entirely different way of bracing and voicing the top. Without the soundhole to weaken the top, Bills can use a Kasha inspired Fan brace pattern. The back of the guitar is also uniquely braced in a radial pattern complete with a few arched braces that leap over others. The result is a big and responsive voice with a lot of bottom end fullness. This Indian Rosewood and German Spruce Tom Bill Genesis will surely inspire your playing. Comes with a Calton Flight Case!

This Lehtela Jazz Tango is a modern take on the fingerstyle Jazz Guitar. The wide body crafted from Cedar and Bubinga makes for a big voice that is very responsive to fingerstyle play. Of course playing with a pick yields and equally satisfying experience. The Harmonic Design Z-90 pickup has a fat tone and enhances the energy of the guitar nicely when amplified. The scale here is 24.9″ which makes it play very easily as well. A unique and expressive hollow body design from Lehtela.

This is the Larrivee SD-50 Mahogany/Spruce 12 Fret Dreadnought. Features include a pyramid bridge, slotted headstock and curly maple body bindings. This slope shoulder dread has a versatile voice and the wide fingerboard will suit fingerstyle players as well as flatpickers. A great workhorse for the gigging musician.

A gorgeous Meghann model from the late, great Lance McCollum, coming to us from 2001. Lance was one of the good guys of the guitar world and his instruments are always inspiring and special. For this smaller-bodied instrument, Lance chose a premium set of Claro Walnut for the body and topped it with highly figured Redwood. This combination creates both a powerful and warm voice. The trebles are alive and sweet and very expressive. The bass is punchy and round. The scale is 25.75″ allowing this small guitar to work perfectly for both Standard and alternate tunings. A versatile beauty from a special maker.

It is also outfitted with John’s own Implant pickup system as well as an RMC Pickup System with 6 individual pickups/saddles and the RMC Polydrive Preamp built in. Here are some thoughts about the Cabaret model from the Buscarino Guitars Website: “THE CABARET is the perfect blend of traditional classical guitar and an acoustic archtop guitar. Specifically designed to meet the needs of the jazz or fingersytle player, the CABARET is based on the Herman Hauser I classical guitar design. The CABARET incorporates traditional classical building methods with modern innovations necessary for today’s jazz and fingerstyle playing. The graceful cutaway facilitates greater access for playing the upper register of the fretboard. Its carved back, unique among nylon-string guitars, enhances the lower midrange while aiding in projection. The two-way adjustable truss rod gives easy access at the headstock for a perfect set-up.”

R.L. (Bob) Mattingly made fine classical instruments and was the owner of “The World of Strings”, a music store in Long Beach, CA. His career as a luthier began in the early ’60s and he was primarily self taught. In the early 70’s he visited many of the great builders in Spain, and even spent a couple of days in the shop with his hero Miguel Rodriguez. Mattingly built over 700 guitars before his untimely death in 1992.

This 1987 Spruce top Mattingly concert guitar is wonderful. Very strong with powerful projection and pristine clarity. It is expressive and musical in every way. A delight to play and to hear. With Mattingly’s passing his guitars are hard to find and extremely collectible in addition to being superb musical instruments.

But Tom upgraded this little 12 Fret beauty with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, headplate, backplate, stepped bridge and rosette. It is really lovely to behold, but again it’s the tone that will have you longing for this sweetheart Trinity Select from Tom Doerr.

The guitars of Dermot McIlroy have become highly sought after and for good reason. They sound amazing, are well crafted, beautiful and easy to play. This high-end McIlroy A65 Figured Koa/Cedar has an angelic voice, articulate and open. Koa, known for being clear and woody, mixes well here with the Cedar top which adds warmth and depth.

The 15 3/4″ body offers up plenty of bass but the fat, rich trebles ensure the melodies are easily heard. This is a Cedar top guitar that has a lot of power and headroom and can cover a lot of ground. It’s in like new condition as well. Don’t miss this hard-to-find McIlroy.

To everyone who’s bid on a charity guitar, everyone who’s gotten the word out to lend a hand, everyone who’s just donated straight to the cause—Dream Guitars thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. We’ve been able to raise thousands of dollars for Puerto Rico hurricane relief, to support hurricane soup kitchens in Houston, Texas, and to help fight the forest fires plaguing California. But the fight is far from over! We want to wrap up 2017 with a strong display of solidarity for these and other causes. This time we’re auctioning three guitars at once! Help us help those in need, and get a great deal on a unique instrument in the process. These auctions are open until 12pm EST December 17th in order to make sure everyone has a chance to bid.

This 2011 Mario Beauregard OMC is on auction to continue to support the United For Puerto Rico fund providing food, water, and more to an island still struggling to survive. This guitar was originally $9,995, but bidding starts at only $4,995.

Follow the contour from florentine cutaway to fretboard, from the sharp peak to cinched waist, down to the 15 5/8″ lower bout. Take in the glassy smoothness of the finish, the way the Ebony bridge rises organically up from below the rosette, itself a quiet testament to the vibrancy of Abalone and Koa. Feel the gentle curve of the C-shaped neck in your left hand, fret ends rounded into half globes after the style of Ervin Somogyi. This 2011 OM-C from Mario Beauregard is a study in smoothness, in a calm and collected style that catches the eye with its simple elegance.

We’d expect no less from one of Somogyi’s graduates–and the voice cannot fail but to inspire. Bass notes have a clean, well-defined edge; the middle register lively, balanced; the trebles haunting in their sustain. For the fingerstylist who needs each string and every note to ring clear as its own bell, this Beauregard OM-C more than fits the bill. Listen to Al’s sample, you’ll hear what we’re talking about. Mario’s ability to voice a guitar to produce complex overtones on top of a pianistically precise projection utilizes the combination of African Blackwood and Cedar to be perfect for all kinds of music, and all sorts of tunings. We found DADGAD and CGCGAD to be lively and crisp, with a comfortable play feel.
