2006 Ed Claxton EM Grand Concert Brazilian/German Spruce
Ed Claxton is highly regarded as one of the finest luthiers today. He builds a guitar heralded for it’s clarity, balance and full, rich voice. Unless you play one it’s hard to believe just how gorgeous the tone is. This 2006 EM is in mint condition and crafted from stunning Brazilian Rosewood and Master Grade German Spruce. Here we have a totally custom Concert guitar from Ed Claxton. This very guitar is featured on page 471 of the book Guitars, by David Schiller. Ed has built a reputation by building instruments with sumptuous tone, impeccable build quality and the finest materials. This guitar is no exception, it features some of the finest Brazilian Rosewood you will find with stunning grain and rich tone. It is accentuated by an incredible Sinker Redwood top that gives it a unique combination of power and warmth, This is very rare Redwood salvaged after more than 100 years at the bottom of the Big River near Mendocini California . It is thought to have originally grown high up on the ridge in conditions that make it very stiff and strong. This Sinker Redwood can be made thinner than typical Redwood and we can tell you the voice is astonishing. Between this most striking set of Brazilian Rosewood, vibrant Sinker Redwood top and the hands of Ed Claxton, this is a special concert guitar by one of the most sought after modern luthiers.

1991 Brian Cohen 1936 Hauser Indian/European
This guitar is a meticulously crafted replica of Hermann Hauser’s famous 1936 instrument, by arguably the best maker in England today. Projecting a clear focused sound, if you are looking for a fast player with a HUGE variety of tonal colors, this is your guitar! Brian Cohen has been building guitars since 1972, and is widely regarded as one of the finest builders of classical guitars in the UK. This gem, made from East Indian Rosewood and European Spruce, is a wonderful example of his historically accurate Hauser-style. It is warm and open, with great string balance and powerful projection. The neck is very comfortable as well. A great guitar by one of Britain’s top builders.

It is crafted from rare Brazilian Gumbixare of stunning figure and rich and lively in voice and topped with Alpine Spruce for brilliant articulation. This Cohen guitar is exquisitely constructed, every detail is beautiful and elegant down to the Rodgers tuners. This is the first Cohen to grace our walls, but hopefully not the last.

For added dynamic range, depth, and richness, the Collings team offers this I-35 Deluxe with premium solid wood construction throughout, Lollar Imperial pickups, and on this 2013 build they further upgraded it with a Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard and headplate veneer with parallelogram MOP position markers. Ivoroid bindings throughout, as well as at the truss rod cover. Note the “top hat” knobs and pickup rings are made in-house by Collings to further dress things up.
