Bryan Sutton is a friend of our shop and visits when he’s playing in town. He’s been here when we had one of these Banjo Killers that he inspired and it’s obvious he’s very proud of them. Dana Bourgeois delivers nicely here with a large guitar that sounds crisp and articulate (and never the least bit tubby). The figured mahogany sides and back deliver some punch and warmth, and the silky Sitka Spruce offers up just enough sparkle and shine. This is a rare guitar as they made only a few. She’s extremely playable and always great fun to pick up.

The Jumbo OM fills a wonderful niche for players who demand a balanced voice, but want just a bit more bottom end and punch. This one has the patina of age on it’s top and it’s gorgeous voice. The Rosewood and Spruce body is very responsive and lively. Players with a light touch will be rewarded with plenty of tone but players who like to hit hard will be equally satisfied.

This is an exquisite example of Dana’s ability to voice an Adirondack Spruce top. This is a custom OM featuring a perfect set of Honduran Rosewood and a sweetheart top of Red Spruce. It has nearly 5 years of tonal maturity but it’s been kept in like-new condition as well. The voice is stellar, open and responsive with big, juicy trebles and focused OM sized bass notes. A superb Bourgeois in every way.

The Mahogany and Red Spruce dreadnought is a sound we all know and love. This combination has been used on powerhouse guitars since the introduction of the famous D-18. Dana Bourgeois has been adding his special voicing to Adirondack tops for years and knows how to pull out the tone. This Georgia Dreadnought has a very even grain on the top all the way across. It’s been played just enough to be coming alive and it’s a strong one.

This may be one of the most beautiful all koa guitars we’ve ever seen. The quality of this Koa is not to be understated, it’s the best, the kind that is getting very hard to find these days. We’ve always loved Dana’s JOMC design, it offers balance and power for the player who needs both. Dana is a master luthier that really knows how to work with Koa and this one has a gorgeous voice that is full and rich and very responsive. Close your eyes and you’d swear it was a premium Spruce top. The appointments are spectacular: a pyramid bridge, abalone top trim, bound and bordered fingerboard and lovely fretboard inlays. This is a rare and special Bourgeois in every way.

Imagine an old D-18 crossed with an OM-18 and you get an idea of what this guitar sounds like. The pure tone of the Englemann top is a perfect compliment to the mahogany sides and back. Ideal for picking or strumming.

Here’s a like-new Vintage D from Dana and company. The Adirondack top on this guitar is simply amazing, very wide grain which is highly desirable on a Dread. The rosewood here is very dark and well quartered. The tone is very strong with great bell like chime on the top. The top part of an open G chord rings like a choir.
