2010 Glenn D. Canin Flamenco Negra Brazilian/Spruce
Glenn Canin is one of the most esteemed contemporary Flamenco and Classical luthiers in the USA. His guitars are played by the top Flamenco guitarists in America and abroad, including Jason McGuire and Chusclales to name a few. Here we have a Flamenco Negra guitar crafted out of stunning Brazilian Rosewood and straight-grained Spruce with Snakewood appointments.
Typical to the the Flamenco style, this guitar has a quick attack and decay. The voice is even across the board, making those upper register solos sound as rich and present as your first position rhythms. The projection and volume is huge! A great first impression for us. If you’re a Flamenco player (and we’re quite certain you must be, to be looking at this guitar), then you know just how ironclad is Glenn Canin’s reputation–and this Flamenco Negra proves it with resounding basses and lightning strike trebles. New Gil Carnal Nylon Nuage California Cypress/German
Here we have a new classical by Matt Young. Matt has spent the last several years working for Gil Carnal in his California shop. This one is made with California Cypress and German Spruce and is a Loud classical – playing it in the showroom made all of the other guitars vibrate in return. Matt has built this one with an elevated fingerboard extension and lattice bracing, which lends a harp like quality to the tone. The double sound port puts the player right in the sound mix, and makes it a true joy to listen to and play.

2006 Paco de Lucia Flamenco Negra Vincent Carrillo Brazilian/Spruce
Here we have a high end 2006 Paco de Lucia Flamenco Negra crafted by Vincent Carillo of Spain. Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce make for a commanding voice that is fast and energetic but also rich and sonorous. Perfect for the more emotional Flamenco reportoire. 2008 Vincente Carrillo 1A India Primera Indian/Cedar
Here we have an India Primera 1A from the Vincent Carrillo shop in Spain. Vincente Carrillo was awarded Spain’s 2010 Premio Nacional de Artesanía (National Prize for Craftsmanship). This is an excellent guitar that offers wonderful playability, tone and a has a powerful projection. Our feeling is that this is an exceptionally good one as it really sings and is very strong. The attack is powerful and if you lay back it gets sweet as well. A really wonderful guitar for a student of avid hobbyist.

2003 Carrington Classical Brazilian/Red Cedar
Here we have a very original design from maker Chris Carrington of Texas. Chris is himself a world renown guitarist which makes him uniquely qualified to build concert guitars. This guitar features a body crafted from Brazilian Rosewood with wonderful coloration and a tight grained Redwood top. There is also an internal B-Band pickup and microphone making this one ready for the stage. The headstock design is Chris’ unique slot head and the rosette is simple and elegant. No for the good stuff, the voice is huge. It’s big and bold with power in every register. The treble strings fire off the top quickly and with clarity. The bass is very strong and round. If you are seeking power and an original voice, this is for you.

2002 Carruth 000-12 Brazilian/Adirondack (Red)
We’re proud to offer another 000 from Newport, New Hampshire luthier Alan Carruth, this time showcasing a beautiful set of Brazilian Rosewood for the three piece back and a tight-grained Adirondack Spruce top. With the combination of the former’s richness, the latter’s projection, and this instrument’s 12-fret neck, Carruth managed to coax out a voice that is at once intimate and vocal, perfect for fingerstyle. Adorned with Alan’s exquisite Celtic Knot inlays across the fretboard and rosette (and of course his trademark owl on the headstock), this 000-12 Fret is an excellent choice for fingerstylists of any persuasion, and perhaps a Celtic player will feel most at home with these vibrant and tasteful appointments.
The bass notes ring with a surprising clarity and are complemented by equally present trebles, and in the past 14 years this Carruth has opened up into a sweet and balanced creature. Ready for the stage as well as the studio, this Carruth comes with a K&K Pure Mini transducer pickup and a Calton flight case.

2006 Carruth 000-14 Myrtlewood/Engelmann
Here’s a 000-14 model in stunning Myrtlewood and Engelmann Spruce from luthier and acoustician, Alan Carruth. Alan is an expert in the physics of sound, or soundwave dynamics, and it shows with this small-bodied beauty. With a prominent midrange attack and clear trebles, this would make an excellent guitar for recording or cutting through in a group setting. The tone is very pleasant and balanced, with enough low mid punch to add some nice depth to the overall sound. The Myrtle Alan used here is outstanding, with intense figure that glows with an inner fire. And to top it off, he’s has included two beautiful Celtic inlays at the 5th and twelfth frets.

2001 Andres Caruncho Classical Brazilian/Cedar
Since 1996, Carlos Barbosa-Lima has played guitars built by Cuban-born, Miami resident Andres Caruncho. “I love his guitars and I have two of them,” he says. “The guitar on Mambo No. 5 is cedar, which was for me an acquired taste. It’s fantastic, very warm sounding. Sustain and a singing tone are major features of Caruncho’s guitars.”
We certainly agree with Carlos, this is one great classical guitar from Andres Caruncho. The tone of this incredible guitar is very nuanced, but even at low volumes it retains a certain richness thanks to the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Cedar top that only becomes more evident when played louder. The Spanish Cedar neck and Ebony fretboard have a comfortable feel that also allows ease of playability. A wonderfully expressive instrument in every way.

2009 Samuel Carvalho Doubletop Indian/Cedar/Nomex
Here we have a Double Top guitar from one of Brazil’s foremost luthiers Samuel Carvalho. The top is two layers of Cedar with a Nomex core. This construction allows for lighter bracing and produces a loud, clear guitar. The back and sides are Indian Rosewood and the sides are doubled for added stiffness and greater projection. It’s no wonder a number of Brazil’s top players choose Carvalho guitars including Paulo Porto Alegre and Paulo Martelli.

2024 Casimi C5S Baritone, The Tree Mahogany/Moonspruce
What a masterpiece. You’ve heard us rant and rave about the powerhouse guitar-building duo of Matthias Roux & Matthew Rice. This instrument continues that trend. Casimi guitars are synonymous with excellence in both visual and sonic mastery. This Baritone, made of The Tree mahogany and Moonspruce, is so powerful. It transcends the stereotypical ideas of a baritone guitar. Playing this guitar is powerful, and it feels like it emits the same energy as a concert grand piano. The Tree motif, stemming from the usage of The Tree as tonewoods, continues to set this apart. Look for yourself, and listen for yourself. A true work of art.

Brand New Casimi C1.S, African Blackwood/Moonspruce
A custom 2024 commission from the workshop of Matthew Rice and Matthias Roux of Casimi Guitars, featuring a nautilus shell motif on the rosette and soundport. This is a non-cutaway, 12-fret C1S with African Blackwood for the back and sides, and Moonspruce on top. The Casimi recipe at work here includes comfort bevels, a pierced headstock, and remarkable depth in its sound. Casimi guitars are among the most elegant and modern in the world, and we are incredibly proud to work with them and bring their works of art to the market. Truly a Dream Guitar.

Brand New Casimi C1S, Koa/Moonspruce
Casimi guitars are synonymous with words such as excellence, superb craftsmanship, and high art. So much so that the name Casimi is a superlative in and of itself. This C1S is no exception. Masterful in every sense of the word. The motif of the Phoenix informs the aesthetic of this instrument, from some of the most beautiful Koa we have ever laid eyes on to the pale Moonspruce top. While we have come to expect excellence from the duo of Matthew Rice and Matthias Roux, there are some firsts here for us with this build. It features a frailing scoop, adorned with an 18 karat gold phoenix feather. Directly below the scoop you will notice there is no cutaway. This instrument is truly singular and superlative.

Brand New Casimi C2S, African Blackwood/Alpine Moonspruce
The Casimi duo of Matthias and Matthew are at the top of our short list of favorite builders. Each C2S we commission is an heirloom instrument, the kind of guitar that humbles the senses. This C2S is a dream. African Blackwood back and sides with Alpine Moonpspruce top, twin arm and rib bevels plus cutaway and 12-fret neck; Koa trim and soundport–26-25″ multiscale setup. The soundhole is ringed in with an exquisite bespoke rosette homaging South African painter Jacobus Pierneef, which is also echoed at the back inlay as a conversation between geometric and pastoral forms.

2012 Casimi C2S, African Blackwood/Alpine Moonspruce
This gorgeous gem of lutherie was originally built in 2012, Matthias Roux and Matthew Rice (the duo that makes up Casimi Guitars) have since reworked it with a wider fretboard and shining new Alpine Moonspruce top over the original African Blackwood back and sides—and if it sounded great before, it’s even more impressive now. This C2 Signature offers a wide, expansive tonal range that incorporates a smooth treble response with soft overtones with mids and basses characterized by an easy clarity and definition. This is an instrument with fingerstyle in mind, and it drinks up altered tunings like water. Arm and rib bevels, deep florentine cutaway, and a 12-fret neck come together for an exercise in ergonomics that leaves other flattops feeling clunky and roughspun. An upper bout soundport keeps the player dialed in to their music, and the hollowed-out headstock keeps the neck weight down, letting the body of the guitar anchor comfortably against your chest and leg.
