This is a Goodall Grand Concert Cutaway with all the Goodall shimmer but a bit warmer sounding as well. It very well balanced and clear, as are most Goodalls, but there’s a little something extra in this one. Al pointed it out to me after he recorded it, he feels it’s a special one. The rosewood and spruce body offers up a great fingerstyle voice and this one also strums great. It’s in mint condition with an AKG microphone added for amplification.

The first thing that hits you about this James Goodall Grand Concert is that it’s drop-dead gorgeous. The triple-A koa practically pulsates, the reds hues in the mahogany neck complement the koa perfectly, and the curly maple binding adds just the right contrast. While this one has all the crispness and sparkle that the Goodall brand suggests, there’s a pleasant warmth in the midrange as well. This is versatile instrument that will reward its owner for years to come.

Working from Hawaii, it’s no surprise the James Goodall makes a wonderful Koa guitar. This CJ has an amazing, rich tone thanks to the combination of Red Cedar along with stunning, figured Koa. The sound is full of those wonderful Goodall overtones and shimmer with great CJ bass as well. This is a superb fingerstyle guitar that is also happy being strummed or flatpicked. The Goodall Traditional Series guitars use construction techniques and styling similar to the great prewar guitars. This TMhD model has a very nice Adirondack Spruce top over Mahogany for a classic D-18 sound. Lots of low end rumble and high end chime for a satisfyiing boom/chuck. Single notes have quick attack and smooth decay making this a great all-arounder. It’s in mint condition and setup perfectly.

This is a stunning Goodall Rosewood Grand Concert. The rich Cedar top is bordered with Abalone trim that matches the rosette. The headstock is also trimmed with Abalone purfling and the fingerboard and bridge are adorned with Abalone Doves. The body, neck and headstock are all bound in sumptuous curly Koa. There’s also Fossil Ivory nut, saddle and bridge pins and last but not least Gold Waverly tuners. So as you can see in the photos below this is a stellar Goodall RGC, but what you can’t see is how good it sounds. That lush, complex Goodall voice is here in spades. Be sure to listen to the clips.

We were offered this guitar from a customer selling a large collection and as soon as we played it we bought it. This is a very special Goodall, the Redwood top really makes a difference here and adds warmth and deep beauty to the voice. Curly Koa bindings, upgraded Gold Gotoh 510 tuners and a cutaway complete this wonderful Goodall and the playability is simply superb. This like new RGCC is better than new because you’ll save money for another guitar!

This is the large body powerhouse Goodall Standard. In typical Goodall fashion it is full of color and overtones and loves to be strummed. It’s equally adept at fingerpicking and flatpicking making it a good choice for the versatile player. The nut and saddle are wide enough for either approach. The Adirondack top is the key feature adding it’s power and headroom. This one is in excellent condition with perfect playability as well.
